Really wondering wtf the plan is now. All the briefs to the press were that we wanted a “top” CB this month who goes straight into the first XI. Anselmino is absolutely not that and definitely isn’t better than either of Fofana or Trev yet. Probably not better than Josh either who is already not playing as much as he should be.

Bringing back Anselmino only for him to ride the bench like Josh does makes no sense to me the more I think it through. If one of our current lot were on the way out I’d get it.

Plan is simple, fetch back Anselmino, saves money on Jacket Potato or whatever he is called, we will lose the race for him and the club will say we did everything possible to get him

Bunch of spineless wankers, I mean us Liverpool or Munich who you going to choose? and us who will low ball them

Makes sense from a financial POV but I don’t know what the explanation will be from a footballing one. Okay, you don’t want to spend £55m on a kid from France midseason. But there’s a reason we wanted him so badly and that was because we wanted someone who can go straight in.

Going from wanting a starter to recalling someone who may not even play makes no sense. Why not go get Senesi?

Senesi makes sense, but to this ownership sense doesn't come into it

Really wonder what goes on with Josh in training for both Maresca and now Rosenoir to not fancy him so much. He is a super talent and miles better than Badiashile and Tosin yet can’t get consistent playing time.

If we’re actually thinking of selling him as a “pure profit” move I think it’ll go worse for us than Guehi did. If we are dumb enough to sell him to another big club like Bayern we will badly regret it I think.

Why so inpatient? Let's get CB in the summer doesn’t make much difference. I'm relaxed about CL qualification.

I’m fine with us not spending silly money on Jacquet this month for sure. But if a CB HAS to come in (which we clearly feel is the case) I’d have preferred we went and got an experienced head who instantly slots into that LCB role that Badi played today.

How are you confident? United are in a good form and we are fighting with liverpool for 5th spot

Top5 will be tough until the last fixture of the season

Ornstein story confirms we are not considering selling Josh.

That won't matter if he decides to move for regular playing time.   Was hoping we would have sorted out a solid loan for Josh this season rather than watch him ride the bench.

Would certainly hope so but there were already stories popping up in previous windows about him considering a move away. He agreed to  stay because he had been getting opportunities. Now that he’s not I wonder if he’ll get his head turned by another big club.

Especially if we’re bringing another CB in.

🔴Liverpool have held fresh talks over the signing of Adam Wharton. Wharton is keen on the move. There is confidence within Liverpool that Wharton will become a Liverpool player.

(@DaveOCKOP)

🟠Manchester City are very confident of beating Manchester United and Chelsea to the signing of Nottingham Forest's England midfielder, Elliot Anderson.

(@FrazFletcher)

Wharton and Anderson seem to be done with Chelsea!

Baleba will end up at United!

🔵L’Equipe say it’s quite possible for Chelsea to return with an improved bid for Jeremy Jacquet.

The French club could accept it if it’s ‘slightly above €50m’.

The Blues are encouraged to raise their offer ‘slightly’ to secure Jacquet’s services.

Hard to know what to believe these days. The club have moved in a really strange manor when it comes to briefing the media. Feels like we hear “Chelsea have moved for ____,” and then it’s just total silence for ages and we don’t hear about any advancement.

Like the Douglas Luiz thing. That brief went out a week ago we haven’t heard a peep since. So are we actually after another midfielder or not? Lavia apparently posted that he’s back fit so does that change the thinking? Not that he’ll be fit for longer than 5 minutes of course.
