So, The Athletic says we will NOT make a move for Murillo in January, nor in the summer. The reason given tells you all you need to know about us buying any quality left footed CBs.

They said that the club will NOT buy Murillo BECAUSE HE IS STARTING QUALITY.

In other words, we are going to roll with Colwill (next season) and Badi for lefty CBs, with Hato as lefty backup option (unless he is loaned out).

Also.....

Be prepared to be profoundly disappointed for Joel Ordóñez or any other truly class right footed new CB, as we already bought Mamadou Sarr and have Anselmino coming back from loan as well (unless Dortmund buy him for the price we will demand, which is highly unlikey as they are the archetypal 'big but cheap as fuck' German club.

The same goes for GKer, as Penders is very likely to come here in the summer, so forget Maignan, Kobel, Diogo Costa, Guillaume Restes, etc etc.

Finally, the same goes for CF, as we have Emegha already coming in, so forget dreams of Osimhen, Lautaro, Julián Alvarez, Marcus Thuram, or even (more speculative than proven vets) Pio Esposito or Samu. Kane would never come here.

As it stands, we simply have to sell multiple players (especially Nico) to even make a play for the crazy expensive Wharton (or even Elliot Anderson, etc), the one BIG name we may still move for.

MAYBE, IF we sell enough players and give up on Wharton (and all other expensive MFers), we might make a play for Kenan Yıldız (who is my number one winger want) BUT Juve will want insane money for him, likely Wharton level money.

Bottom line, the board is going to enrage many people there next 2 windows.

It feels enraging if this is true, but I'm going to wait for the summer post world cup and see what they do.

As well if they do this, they can't demand anything from coahces to be big title contenders. With this policy we are bound to have ups and down.

🔵Chelsea will not give Nicolas Jackson the chance to return this season after he refused to terminate his loan at Bayern at the end of the summer window. Chelsea will not be bringing forward the Emegha deal either to cover for Delap. Maresca’s options are Joao Pedro, Neto, Guiu and George.

Emegha looks rubbish anyway. Counter attack merchant who'd struggle vs the low blocks we face

🔴BREAKING: Chelsea's FA disciplinary hearing on 74 charges including secret payments to agents during Abramovich era due to conclude this week.

Chelsea are hopeful of receiving only a fine because they self-reported the payments after discovering them.

However, the commission could impose tougher penalties, including a transfer ban or points deduction. [The Times]

And that right there is the mentality of the club.

They actually consider Neto and George as striking options.

IF we are transfer banned we absolutely cannot sell Nico Jackson this coming summer.

As I laid out in my long post above, the other options who meet our age and salary demands and who will come here (I doubt Pio Esposito will leave Inter) are not upgrades.

Pedro is simply not a 'lead-the-line in the EPL' CF and is so streaky, Delap is both non productive and injury-prone, Guiu needs to be loaned or sold, and Emegha is raw and unproven.

IF Emegha plays great next season, then sure, sell Nico after the ban is lifted.

🔵Chelsea are hopeful that Liam Delap will be out for no longer than four weeks after scans confirmed that the striker had not suffered a fracture or dislocation to his shoulder.

Kobbie Mainoo to Chelsea in January feels like the most obvious transfer of all-time!!!

It likely got lost in the shuffle, but wow, was selling Renato Veiga (who is having a great year) and keeping trash like Badi a huge mistake (as predicted), as Badi is a lefty like Veiga, is always injured, and is simply not as good a CB as Veiga, IMHO. Veiga also can play DMF if need be.

🔴Nottingham Forest defender Murillo is open to a change of scene next summer as he continues to attract interest from Europe’s top clubs.

Chelsea have long admired the 23-year-old, while Real Madrid have kept a close eye on him, too.

This one is probably down to Maresca, who never seemed to rate Veiga.

Veiga was sold because the board seen money

was a fucking POOR sale

I said so at the time

it is not THAT often I lose my shit over buys before they kick a ball for us (I was willing to give Gittens and Garnacho and even Muddy a chance, for instance)

but

I lost my shit over Badi, Disasi, Sterling, Fofana (Fofana because he was already damaged goods, pre Leicester injury FoFana was close to WC), KDH (mainly because he is decent midtable player, not Chels level, as he is now showing at Everton), Drinkwater, Lukaku, and (mainly due to the price paid) CuCu

CuCu proved me dead wrong on that one, but all the others have been or were shambolic

Tosin was on a free, but he deffo shows you get what you pay for

Mudryk, I forgot about him.. oh dear god

I am still willing to give him a shot IF we are transfer banned

at least we will never come close to paying the full £89m for him

it will end up being around £62m, which is still far too much

and IF he is banned for 4 years I think we get most back via insurance
