Arsenal are advancing on Madueke and Gyokers and already got Zubimendit. Good transfer window for them.

Madueke is not so good for them. Gyo is but it is a big step jump from portuguese league to premierleague

They lost partey that was very good for them

Typical for our Board to be happy with comparatively small profits for decent players like Madueke and Petrovic while receiving cents on the dollar for those signings that everybody knew were pointless in the first place. It’s highly unsustainable to sign this many players and then sell most them again with huge discounts just a few windows  later when they are unable to turn huge profits on the few that actually delivered. No idea how this weird  transfer strategy  is ever gonna be profitable

Arse’s probable front 4 will be Gyokeres up top, Eze LW, Saka RW, and Odegaard at #10. Rice and Zunimendi as the midfield 2. And then their elite back line.

Annoying as hell to say that they’ll probably have the best XI in the league.

Looks ominous indeed. I would not be surprised to see them get Rodrygo too. Especially if Martinelli leaves.

Don’t really see the point in them getting both Eze and Rodrygo. Both are the level of player that should be starting every match. Eze going from star boy who ran the show at Palace to squad player at Arse would be Grealish to City like. And Rodrygo would surely only go there if he’s assured of a starting role every week or else he’d be in the same situation as he is now at Madrid.

Whatever happens, there are now ZERO excuses for Arteta and Arse not to win the league. Can’t keep finishing 2nd over and over again. With the sort of money spent and the few weak areas of their squad finally addressed he NEEDS to win it this year.

Not convinced that is so nailed on. Odegaard is potentially no longer the same player he was. Eze hit or miss. Zubi untested in PL. Gyokeres suspiciously no one has gone for, presumably because they think he's a stat padder putting in numbers in a farmers league that wont translate to here - Darwin Nunez got 26 goals in 28 apps in his final season in Portugal and not sure anyone who is a big scorer in Portugal has moved on and kept anywhere close to those numbers. Jackson Martinez another example.

Believe it when i see it. On paper, I'd have thought City still have the best XI in the league if we're assuming players play at their peak and adapt to the league. Then Liverpool (for 1-2 more years). Then maybe Arsenal due to how strong / proven the defence is?

I do agree that Gyokeres is being overrated a bit. Everyone is so convinced that he’ll be a Haaland/RvP/Aguero level striker who’s going to score 30 PL goals but I don’t think he’ll get near that.

Smart of Arse to get Gyokeres done before Madueke 🤣

Now their fans won’t be as mad when that signing hopefully gets done this coming week.

I think any of our fans still holding out hope for a new keeper coming in need to abandon that thought now.

The ONLY reason there was a chance a few weeks ago is because we thought we could get Maignan for a steal of a price. But once Milan dug their heels in and we walked away I think that was the end of any keeper pursuit. The thinking was most certainly “if we can get some top class keeper for a bargain price we’ll do it. Otherwise, we’ll stick with what we have.”

Sanchez will have until January to show whether he can stay. If he once again costs us points then we’ll finally do something.
