Chelsea have started working in the background on a striker for the summer. (@FabrizioRomano)

Liam Delap 💯

Good *young* player.... so, we sign him in the summer, and if we expect him to develop into the player we need in another 3-4 years, I think @lluubbeenn is slightly off above: I'd say he will come good at around 2029, maybe even 2028. 😆

Seriously he showed quality in ball control, pace, and power, in long ball situations. There are tons of specific demands at a big club he won't be ready for immediately once signed. The mere placements of the D line would already feel very different for him.

No matter what people's opinion on him is, loaning him out on the last day and not having a replacement is bonkers. Yes, we have been lucky so far with no injuries to the attackers, however what if Palmer picks up an injury? Also in UECL, the latter stages you expect the more of the main players to feature more and Felix was ideal for those games. Mudryk is banned for god knows how long and now loaning out Felix. I don't get the logic of this at all... Like I say towards end of season we will be possible in latter stages of FA Cup, UECL and competing for champions league places. This is very short-sighted but tbh I am not surprised when I see the board see a chance of making money.

I can’t wait for 2030, when we will finally be good, or will we? 😂

No no, my man, you misunderstand. By 2030 the best of the players we've bought now are sold for huge profits, and we bring through a new crop for Project 2035. This is the forever project.

And then someone like Levi Colwill will retire and step up to manage us under a transfer ban, effectively restarting the cycle

Just watched a comp of this new kid we’ve just signed and tbh, he doesn’t really look like anything special. 🤷‍♂️

Not like all the other supposed “wonder kids” we’ve signed. He just looks like an okay player playing for a small team. I really don’t see a player that Maresca will throw in any time soon.

Maresca just isn't keen on him and wasn't from the get go.

It depends on the circumstances to be fair - did Felix & his agent demand it? Did he want out?

I am reasonably onboard with Pep's approach: if they don't 1000% want to ride or die with you, off they go. Even if in the short term its worse for you.

𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 | Bournemouth complete signing of Eli Junior Kroupi (18) from Lorient. 🇫🇷

Fee is €12m + bonuses.

Next good deal for Bournemouth

Almost seems too cheap, almost like the owner of Bournemouth has part ownership of Lorient or something and has used that to get a better deal.... 🤔
