Lille received an offer of €10 million for Jonathan David from a club whose identity has not been revealed.

However, Lille's management rejected the Offer as they didn't want to sell him, even if it meant seeing him leave for free in the summer.

getting J David for the last 40 per cent or so of this season, plus perm after that, and for only around £8.3m, would be super business

he just turned 25yo 2 weeks ago

and already has 171 goals and 58 assists in his topflight career for club and country

he scores in big games versus big teams, he is not a flat track bully

these are his last 7 CL games

Kind of crazy how silent it is with just 2 days left in the window. What we do or don’t do this week can really decide our season.

If we don’t bring in a goal scorer then it will be made 100% clear to us that the board/sporting directors aren’t bothered about reaching the UCL places this season.

It's four days bruv...

Closes midnight Monday Feb 3rd @ 11pm

Matys Tel said goodbye to the Byern Fans at the end of the game.. he’s off… but if we are ruled out then to who?? United maybe?

Probably Spurs, they have so many injuries right now, Tel would get plenty of minutes.

Feel like United would only happen if Garnacho or Rashford leave.

And who’s going to cover his £500.000 wages come the time.

Obviously if he comes back to Europe he would significantly reduce his salary. Like Henderson in Ajax or now Neymar in Santos.

Chelsea have ruled out a goalkeeper and a defender and are instead looking at a left winger, striker and possibly midfielder. (@SJohnsonSport @liam_twomey)

I already told you 4 or 5 things that should make anyone doubt Maresca and his ability to judge players only from what we've seen so far, if this shit with Felix and Nkunku happened without any of the other shenanigans, you would have a point but the man continues to make strange decision after strange decision, please excuse me and others for starting to doubt his judgement and ability to evaluate a performance.

Only way the team selections make sense is if Enzo has to pick the team by committee before the game and then is forced to only make changes based on algorithms during the game.

Otherwise I agree he doesn't really know what he is doing apart from reusing one system he learnt from Pep and using it endlessly like a gambling addict.

Defo Felix joining them now, cash sale and also Disasi going there

We have to pray Disaster goes. Felix I think has been used incredibly poorly but if it means we get his fee back I can handle it. In fact if we have to take a £10m hit on Felix in order to get Disaster to Villa permanently on a free we should do it. That guy is even worse than Sanchez pound for pound.

With both Osimhen & Gyokeres having set release clauses I really wonder what is preventing us from triggering either of them. Players have told us they aren’t interested?

Both clauses are well below the £100m mark that any super elite striker like say Isak would cost. So why the hell don’t we try?

Wages. People around here seem to have forgotten that wages dictate what we do more than fees. VO would already be here if he was willing to take a drop in wages. He didn't and now is in the Farmers Turkish league picking up his coin.

Gyokeres will want serious money wage wise. Probably £300-£400k a week. On top of that he wasn't great the last time he was in England - sure he was young but he was doing less than Ferguson at Brighton at the same age.

Delap is clearly the player that fits all our criteria and will be the easiest to get in the Summer.

Wages. Again. He will want a massive signing on fee and wages. I actually can see him in Saudi unless PSG/Bayern go for him.

Tax free as well. It is closer to £900k-£1m a week compared to England.

We have the GK's. We just don't play them or have them out on loan. CB is tough in Jan. Hopefully, it is sorted in Summer.

Mathys Tel race heating up. Spurs director was in Munich last night, Chelsea there for a permanent deal. Man Utd called for a loan. (@FabrizioRomano)

Is that what you expect? I'm sure club don't expect him to be good now but in 2,3 years.

I expect proven player like world class GK , CB or ST  who will contribute not another kid with ''potential'' from Brazil , Nicaragua . We are not Brighton and Hove  if s anyone forgot. If  Clownlake want to turn us into them, it won't work.

You say this but I am not sure. I think the idea is Dortmund, but they have forgotten Dortmund play in a lower level league with 18 teams in it, but have 4-5 CL places each year.

Prime example of their transfer strategy just needs to be seen here:

Summer 2023 - Sanchez - dropped to 3rd choice BHA GK the season prior is brought for £25m and installed as GK1.

Petro - Brought as GK2.

Season 2023/24 - Sanchez starts and is incredibly poor. Petro replaces him when he gets injured and our form improves quite significantly.

Summer 2024 - Sanchez gets ordained GK1 for reasons unknown. Petro gets loaned to Strasborg to replace Sels who goes to Forest. We buy two project GK's in Jorgensen and Penders.

Season 2024/25 - midway point - Sanchez is the worst GK in the PL. Petro is the best in Ligue 1. Sels is up there as the best GK in the PL. Jorgensen isn't trusted still. Penders is still highly raw.

This is also before we get to Kepa and Slonia.

The time to stop buying talent needs to slow down and we now need some real top quality players but with an added spice of experience that will go into this squad. If some of these young lads we have are still here in 3-4 years and go on to be absolute top class then great but for that journey they need not only coaching right but have the arm of experience around the and most importantly has to be on the field more so than on it.

I actually think the hierarchy at the club have not given a second thought about what is needed on the field such as leadership, I think they have totally dismissed it as a whole in hope the team and squad will grow quickly. Experience is massively essential, look at past years, Terry, Carvalho, Cole, Makalele, Cech just to name a few he were around the team and squad but around people like Joe Cole, Diarra, Wright Phillips, Scotty Sinclair....and so on and so on. Whilst the players I mentioned may not have gone on to immense quality, what they had learned and experienced in both playing and being round these players will have been priceless.

We have to get back to looking at top players, and I mean players who really bring something to the party and most of all add experience to this young and very very inexperienced side and will continue to be that if we do not add this much needed experience, quality and difference makers.

The way a huge number of clubs are apparently queueing up trying to snatch Tel you’d think he’s Florian Wirtz and is the most promising AM Prost left out there. I just don’t see it. He doesn’t look special at all to me on YT where anyone can be made to look awesome. He looks like yet another raw attacker who doesn’t have a natural position.

I feel like if he came here he’d be in the exact situation that Nkunku & Felix are currently in. He’d come on for a few minutes here and there, fail to impress in that limited time, and then rot on the bench.
