Mhsc 1,139 Posted August 14, 2023 Share Posted August 14, 2023 Hilarious how rival fans keep saying that no one would choose Chelsea, it genuinely is the most interesting & exciting project in football atm if you're up and coming but not yet completely world class: great manager, great attacking/progressive football, multi club model for loans with guaranteed football if you're not Chelsea-ready, ambitious long term plans, great directors of football doing some really exciting squad building, tonnes of money behind the project, we churn out the most premier league players of any club, and we have been extremely successful over the last 20 years. I can understand people picking City over us due to basically guaranteed immediate trophies, but only if they are already world class and slot into that lineup guaranteed. Whilst not all our youth buys will pan out i believe they are bought more to become players for us than just products to sell at a later date so big spending will ease off in the future. They are prepared to pay big when the need is great.but moving forward they know you can't have too many of them. Getting back to Lavia,is not like we didnt show an interest in him until they did..we bid for him in January. So they making us pay more.it will work out fine. Player has to sign the contract too. If he's not gonna sign it's either accept the Chelsea offer or player stays. I would aslong as it doesnt get too high,match the fee,even throw in a youngster on loan for free. Southampton has a great history of developing young talent over the last 40 years and don't squeeze like brighton.it's worth it in the long run to maintain a good relationship with them.
