Or is this purely because he's another English player bullshit? I hate when this narrative is rolled out. The "boring English names" of John Terry and Reece James were/are widely thought of as world class amoung almost the entire fanbase. Lol So you just want old players brought in with no vision for the future? Weird bunch. I'm super excited For me it's not signing the young players I'm happy we're going down that route but I fear we're going a bit too far the other way. As far as I'm aware the Busby Babes are the only exception to the rule that defacto U23 teams don't really win the big titles. Even United CO92 needed experience around them. And then if we can't offer the titles the best of the youngsters may get their head turned by teams that can. ulsterchelsea and laura90

We already have R.James who is experienced, Mount who is experienced, Chilwell who is experienced, Kova who is experienced, Chalobah who is experienced. Maybe because most of these players came through the academy, people deem them inexperienced but they are all Champions League winners with multiple campaigns under the belt. Even if we assume the likes of Silva, Azpi, Jorginho, Kante, Auba and maybe even Koulibaly will be gone, either the coming summer or the next, there will still be players with plenty of top level experience. That said, I definitely hope the plan of the current owners won't be to have a constant U25 squad and bankroll the club by always selling 'the oldies' before even reaching their peak years because that's most certainly not a winning formula. Instead I think the ideal balance is to have most of the squad around 21-25 years old and then complement them by having a few older heads in the prime of their careers around the team to act as the leaders. Pizy 18,906
Badiashile looks fine but nothing special. He doesn’t look destined to become a world class player or anything like Gvardiol does. In fact, he doesn’t look to be on the same level talent wise as the early 20’s French CB we just signed. He just seems to be a decent CB that the traditional midtable PL clubs would bring in rather than a genuine big club. Our hopes for top 4 are more or less gone so why spend money on a CB now? Not like bringing in Badiashile will change the course of our remaining season. He’s not going to score the goals we need. Why not just ride this season out, take the pain, and survey what’s available then? laura90

Vesper 30,175
None of the complainers have answered my 100% valid, and also very detailed specific questions (backed up with every remotely possible player of high quality, 50 of them, especially the top 30) I so want to hear who these mythical world class players are that we are ignoring/not trying for (they HAVE to be actually available too, popping off with Mbappe or Håland etc is bullshit)

I recall so many having a go about him over the years, slating him, some hard I saw a tonne of potential, but he suffers at times under Simeone's system (or am I just rationalising?) I am not necessarily against it, but he should not be our first choice for a CF IMHO he is hardly a goal machine, and that is in in pinball La Liga too one league goal per every 4 games is hardly the stuff of dreams IF he plays 36 league games, that is 9 goals
MoroccanBlue 5,382
Reading Badiashile is a composed ball playing CB. Good at defending his own box and set pieces. He is a rash tackler though.

TheHulk 2,444
I'd be very angry if this is true and Leipzig only want 80m for him and we refuse to pay after a whole summer of overpaying.

Pizy 18,906
Joao Felix is an interesting player and is someone I like, but I feel like we’d have the exact same issues with him as we currently do with Havertz. They can both technically play anywhere across the attacking positions but aren’t truly elite in any of them. He looks like the picture perfect player Guardiola would love at City where he can move him around in various unorthodox positions. But imo with Nkunku already wrapped up for next summer and Havertz already in the team we have two second striker/#10 hybrid’s already. What we need is another outright wide player to massively upgrade on Ziyech and CP10. Which is why Leaõ is the ultimate prize.
