The Blues cannot quite spend as heavily as they did under former owner Roman Abramovich, but new owner Todd Boehly has proved that he will make big transfer warchests available to Thomas Tuchel. fucking cunts🤬 The victim mentality is thick on this one... Lets be honest Barca is one of the biggest clubs in the world, a level we have not reached yet. They make so much more in revenue than we do and they also are a bigger brand than we are, thus giving them a better chance at generating even more money using their brand. It is not our fault nor is it other teams fault they are where they are now financially. That is the responsibility that falls solely on their board. Short term signings and huge wages are part of the problem. So instead of complaining about other teams financial muscle, maybe you should sort yourselves out. You are not some fckin relegation battle team, you are Barcelona its embarrassing! Vesper
Jype 6,398
According to El Chiringuito it looks like Kounde will earn a net salary of €6M per season. Roughly £180K/wk before tax, sounds about right for a player of his status and role in the current market. It was always so obvious Gerard Romero's claims of €12M net per year were bullshit but the Barca fans took it as gospel. This victim mentality was always ridiculous like how they implied through media it's either to Barcelona for success or to Chelsea for the money. It's not like they haven't signed multiple players just this summer for minimum €6M net deals (Lewandowski, Raphinha, Kessie, Dembele all on equal or more). Pizy 18,927
Announcement today would be ace. But from what we saw with Sterling and KK it seems to take us like 3 days between signing everything and the announcement.

I think that is way too much for a player who has done and won fuck all so far and only been playing on this level for 2 years. Would expect him to be on less money otherwise would further complicate our next contract negotiations Boycie

Would expect him to be on less money otherwise would further complicate our next contract negotiations That is more or less the kind of salary I would expect Mount and James to get in their oncoming contract negotiations, maybe I'd give the academy boys a little bit extra to make it an even £200K/wk but in the same ballpark nonetheless. I don't really see it complicating anything, that ship has already sailed with Havertz, Chilwell on around £200K and Werner on £270K wages. Close to £200K a week or more seems to be the going rate for a starting player at Chelsea nowadays. Edited July 22, 2022 by Jype
Blues Forever 1,232
Chelsea have a clear run to complete their £55m deal for Sevilla's Jules Kounde after Barcelona switched to other targets. The Catalan giants have been priced out of the race by the Blues and have now begun work to sign Inigo Martinez from Athletic Club instead. It leaves the new Boehly-Clearlake owners needing to just agree a fee with the La Liga outfit for Kounde, and they are close to doing so having matched their valuation with remaining negotiations focusing on the structure of add-on clauses. With the 23-year-old France international having already agreed a five-year deal with Chelsea until 2027, these talks will be the final hurdle to complete the transfer. When the deal is done, Chelsea will have completed three out of a requested five major transfers this summer. Thomas Tuchel has told sporting director Todd Boehly that he needs major reinforcements to his defence and wants to add Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe next. There are concerns about his desire to leave his boyhood club even after Thiago Silva and N'Golo Kante attempted to talk him around. The Blues could switch their attention to RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol if that approach fails but his club are reluctant to sell and the deal would be further complicated by the structure of agents around the Croatian. The signing of Kounde could allow Cesar Azpilicueta to finally leave for Barcelona, something he has repeatedly requested. The Spaniard is keen to make the switch and sign a two-year contract at the Camp Nou. The sale of Azpilicueta would allow Tuchel to consider venturing into the market for wing-backs towards the end of the transfer window. Jype 6,398
Wasn't this the dude who broke the news on De Ligt to Bayern? Could be something in it. Would definitely let him go if a decent offer comes in. Edited July 22, 2022 by Jype

Pizy 18,927
Only way Timo goes is on loan with that salary. I’d still keep him and give him one last chance to rediscover himself.
Duppy Conqueror 1,539
Will be shocked if we signed somebody else for our back 3 unless it’s something like Gvardiol but with an immediate loan back for a year. I only see us signing a WB and a DM now. As doesnt appear like we gonna be offloading the amount expected before. Special Juan 28,141
Too weak minded Werner for me. Too much is made of his so called off the ball runs but he does fuck all with it at his feet. Not a number 9 because he's got the body of a child and limited skill set for the wide positions. You can rule him out of one position just simply based on the signing of Sterling alone. I want another really trick winger for the right side signed, I do not trust CHO one bit and hang on hope that Puli can be that but I'm not sure
