Lampard is making bad mistakes IMHO

part of it is on Alonso for perma-burning his bridges

but it looks like Barkley and Rudiger are gone on loan as well

and Alonso is deffo out so we are stuck with the pure dregs Emerson, who will cost us games if he plays too much

plus CHO supposedly wants out, to go to Bayern (I cannot, cannot see us letting him leave, we will be utterly fucked at winger in terms of depth, Mount is so not a winger, and Pulisic and Ziyech are not healthy yet) plus I do not fancy Havertz to be wasted at RW a lot

that is about as low a bar as we can have

so hope we can use Ian Maatsen a bit (but so not sure he is ready, plus he is so small, and is not a Lamptey)

 I do not think Juan Familia-Castillo is good enough to be a first team Chels player

Ajax turned down a cheap buy option on him and I watched a bit of his youth games for them and was not really that impressed

Rules have been changed but suspended because of Covid.

We obviously won't, maybe next summer if things don't  work out. Either way if someone with his talent goes someone like Sancho or Dembele needs to replace him anything else and it's a downgrade.

According to Matt Law, assuming that Rudiger leaves the club as expected, we could make a late attempt to bring in a new centre-back for some extra defensive solidity before loaning out Tomori for more game time.

“There’s a very high possibility that Rudiger will leave before the window ends,” he said.

“Tomori also wants to go on loan because he wants to play more regularly. Were Chelsea to get rid of Tomori and Rudiger, whether it be on loan or a permanent deal, I still wouldn’t rule out a surprise move on a centre-back if they can’t get Rice done – just to try and strengthen something while they wait on Rice.

“Chelsea are good at doing things late and doing things quickly that take us by surprise in windows. If they can’t get Rice, and they were to move on Rudiger and Tomori, I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if a bid went in on a centre-back even before the window shuts.”

He also revealed that, to him, it is “looking unlikely” that the Blues manage to sign Rice before Monday’s deadline but warned that you should “never say never” with Chelsea at the end of transfer windows.

Not many good CBs are available in this window: Skriniar, Kounde, Carlos, Koulibaly, and Tarkowski. Could add Gimenez too but no one going to pay €120m for him.

So...we don't seem to have a clue on what to do with the squad depth either...?

I have no clue why people say Zakaria isn't for sale this season, I know it's very later in the transfer window but the guy has only 2 years left on his contract, chances say he will go for dirt cheap next year if he doesn't sign an extension. Also Partey is a nice option.
