So, just what we've known for a while now. If we pay up after they're done in Europe he's ours. They aren't going to force him to stay or anything.

Hopefully everything's already negotiated and ready. Having our 3 big attacking signings in and ready well in advance of the season could be crucial. Other clubs will still be scrambling later in the window while we did our business early.

After his signature we can focus on getting Rice, Chilwell/Reguilon, and a GK to complete our perfect transfer window.

Exactly. And once our season is officially done today I think we'll start to see some of our deadwood start to go to raise money for those signings.

Has Granny seen the defence?

the defence will still be addressed

missing out on Havertz would be a long term disaster from both ends, both us, and then the fact he strengthens the hell out of a direct rival for EPL and/or CL glory

You actually believe our board are stupid enough to use all the budgets on Havertz and completely ignore the defence problems? If it is the case then they are absolutely hopeless and nothing we can do.

Christ I bet Honigstein had to really push himself to write about Havertz wanting to come here.

He isnt keen on Chelsea, always shoots down any links to German players for us, and generally negative about any German player coming to prem

Seriously man, who the hell cares!?

Havertz absolutely wants to join Chelsea. The player has agreed on a 5-year contract. Discussions continue between Leverkusen and Chelsea. [However,] Chelsea are optimistic. Chelsea hope to finalise [the deal] in the coming days by staggering the payments.
