Hope he can continue it.However, just wondering though is that because of the somewhat defensive & counter attacking approach? It suited Mikel's game from the looks of it because he has looked poor in games when we have to attack and play at a high tempo. OR is it because he played alongside an equally solid Meireles?Think that sentence might just stir up the 'Mikel-Lampard' double pivot debate again. He was always, always alongside mikel when we lost possesion. mikel was able intercept balls for when Newcastle got the ball it was always deepp in their own territory, he won ball around midfield and was always hitting someone for the attack. wheather it was ivan on the wing, hazard or even when he played torres through. i think if u factor in bertrand as well, it was a midfield 3 in front of the defense and sometines even 4 when hazard tracked back. played well, glad to see that mierles-mikel worked out, i really am.
