Magic Lamps 11,692
His confidence is shot since the int break. Needs to be rested before he gets into a hole.

whats happening 1,615
im not worrying about him. he does a lot of stuff other than getting in to chances. it's good until he gets into chances.
killer1257 3,282
He was never the most clinical striker to begin with. He missed the second most chances in Bundesliga last season for a reason.Hope he scores against Spurs because we need clinical finishes against them. Werner misses a chance - "Oh no, it's concerning!" Not saying he shouldn't have scored at least twice in these last two games but some of the (over)reaction I have seen to his misses are hilarious. Stats
Magic Lamps 11,692
Never liked him on the wing. He is not a 1 vs 1 player. Would rather have CHO on the left next game.
Jase 43,479
At the risk of sounding like I'm making excuses for Werner (lol), would also say the pass for the second miss just missed the mark. Was a bit behind him and he had to moved back slightly to shoot, plus the keeper was also quick to shut him down. He scored from the same position from a much more accurate pass at Burnley.
Jase 43,479
Top 5 Most Used Players This Season: 1. Werner - 1,224 mins 2. Zouma - 1,199 mins 3. Mount - 1,050 mins 4. Kante - 1,017 mins 5. Chilwell - 946 mins Excluding Zouma (because he's a CB), Werner has played almost at least 2 games more than anyone else and it's not even December yet! He's gonna need a break soon... kellzfresh and Fernando
Azul 1,615
Serious question, would anyone start Pulisic (if he's fit) over Werner against Spurs? Let's be real here, he's missed crucial chances in the last four games consistently. That's not the only problem though, his all around game was awful. He constantly loses the ball, and his passing is not good enough as well. There's not enough dribbling or shooting when he comes up against a defender. Pulisic on the other hand is a lethal finisher, not only that but his dribbling and passing is class. I'd honestly give Werner a rest, and start Pulisic if he's fit. An unmatchfit Pulisic would perform better than how Werner is performing at the moment in my opinion.

But I already told you that he struggles with 1 vs 1 situations when he was at Leipzig. But I see improvements in his first touch and passing, which is very crucial in the long run. When he gets some rest, he will get better. Gesendet von meinem VOG-L29 mit Tapatalk

His performances have not been up to par, and we need a win against Spurs. CHO and Pulisic are safer options for now, but Timo is a starter in this team ofcourse. I also think it's unfair to expect striker-like effectiveness when he plays winger. He gets a lot more involved in other tasks as a winger (even inside striker), so naturally the focus isn't the same as if he were playing striker. Think that's clear when you watch him play for Germany. The fact he's been playing in the wing may hurt us when things get tighter and we need an extra class up front - Abraham ain't it. Werner should be playing more in the center with Odoi coming on to the left... dunno why that's not being done at all.

Verstuurd vanaf mijn KB2003 met Tapatalk Don't disagree that Werner needs a rest but if Lampard didn't rest him against Rennes, what makes you think he will do that against Spurs? Also, how exactly are CHO and Pulisic safer options right now? For one reason or another, Lampard has barely played CHO much at all and with Pulisic, it's worth remembering that he played a few games before his last injury and he didn't quite manage to rediscover his last season form. Unlikely he'll do so all of a sudden immediately coming off from a setback and given his hamstring problem has been problematic, I highly doubt Lampard will just throw him straight into the starting XI in a big game. Didn't even do it last time against Palace. Came on as a sub then. Stats and kellzfresh

I think Lampard will start Werner but I think it's better to give him a rest, because he can easily flop in that game since his confidence is at an all time low right now.  CHO has looked amazing in the international break, and looked very good today as well. We also know how good Pulisic is, even if he just came back from injuries. He is the type of player that still performs after a long lay-off, we've seen it last season.  Werner's missed chances are abnormal, he looks completely lost at the moment. That's why I think it's a bit too much to start him against Spurs. He might flop, or he might look world class. We don't know which Timo we'll get, and that's what scares me at the moment.
