that is also a formation that gets our best XI on the pitch together and plays them all, other than Jorginho, in their best positions, and Jorginho can handle CMF, he can even drop a little deeper than the the other two MF and get the ball from Kante or the 3 CB's and roll forward

Kante fills in gaps and is free to disrupt, which is what he does better than anyone on the planet

Reece has played at CB in the past and he is on the right, so can overlap as long as the others rotate a bit

he is far more athletic than Azpi is

and this formation also removes our LB issues

I wish to hell Lamps would at least try it out in practice

it plays to each players strengths

Why the fuck not? We have to try something else cuz we concede like there is no tomorrow. Let him roam around in front the defence and pick shit up. Cuz this version of Kante is wasted imo, sure he is still quality but not his true potential.

i do not buy that for a second, and in my formation he has 3 other MFers to assist in front of him, and then 3 CBs behind him

he is free to roam and create havoc

just like he did under Conte and how he does on the French national team

he is being criminally misused by the last 2 managers here

it is quite evident in his impact and play falling off, especially this year

he was atrocious against SOTON, our worst player IMHO, the first time I have ever said that since he has come here

he turned the ball over like clockwork, and disrupted almost nothing of import

I watched a random AFCTV Video and they said that Arsenal had a lot of Desire and was decent. Arteta said in the Post match interview that he was Happy for their good performance.
I can see a Duncan Ferguson performance coming against us

Want to try something new, fine but not when that something has been tried before and failed miserably. Conte tried playing Kante as the sole DM at Arsenal and we got ripped apart in a 3-0 loss, remember? Kante may be a DM but he's not the kind of DM who sits solely in front of the defence and mops up attacks. Why do you think Kante's best work as a DM has come when playing with another DM alongside him in Drinkwater at Leicester and Matic here? If we're going to return Kante to the old role, then we need someone else to sit and sweep up attacks while allowing Kante to move around and do his stuff.

Just because we have 3 CBs, that doesn't mean he's free to roam when he's the sole protector in front of that backline. If he does that, we'll just end up with the same problem we've been having, opposing teams running through the center of our team in turnover situations.

Problem with Kante is, his qualities right now feel like a misfit of the more progressive football we're trying to implement. He looked great at Leicester and under Conte because the systems used were counter-attacking/defensive/pragmatic, which suited him down to the ground. Now, he looks great at times and looks like a lost kid at other times. Assuming we're going to continue with the more attacking style of football, then perhaps we need to find a different kind of DM, someone similar to Makelele perhaps, who can sit in front of the defence and have a good passing ability to start attacks or give it to the more creative players further forward.

Come now, we didnt lose at arsenal because Kante was playing that role, we lost cuz we sucked ass. Kante can easily do it on his own.....it sure as hell would be worth the try. Cuz what we are doing now aint doing it and nowhere near consistent. It also does not help that FL keeps changing the setup all the dame time. We need stability and consistency in that regard and putting Kante to protect cant be worse than what we see this season.

We were terrible that day for sure but go watch back the game and tell me playing Kante as the sole DM in front of the defence was the best idea.

Lose Sunday and we won't see fourth again. I didn't fancy us against Spurs and we turned them over but then the display against Southampton was frankly one of the worse I've seen in years.

We were onto a good thing with the Jorgi/Kova/Mount midfield in the winning run. While I'm not trying to suggest it's the only reason everything's gone to shit and we will start looking great again should we bring it back trying to shoehorn Kante back in straight away was a decision right out of the Sven Goran "the big names must play" Eriksson handbook.

We are at Arsenal and Watford level in the last 8 games.

We have a much better team than Arsenal, but without a coach it's complicated.
