It will be interesting to see if Genoa really does offer 45M pounds in January, If Chelsea sells.

I doubt we'll sell anyone in the middle of the season.

Genoa 45m pounds? Are you serious?

Their record transfer is 19.5m euros. And they are too small for Pulisic anyway. If he leaves it will be Bayern or something similar.

That seems to be the number being thrown around.

Watching this and other Chelsea boards makes thin a move in January would be good for all concerned. No one at Chelsea (manager, fans) rates him at his market value — well, some of his teammates do, but …. Chelsea fans seem unanimous that he will be perpetually injured, he should just be s super sub, and blah blah blah. So if he can’t stay healthy in the PL, why not deal him in January, maybe to a league where hacking the technical players is penalized more heavily?  Win-win, right?

No way he will be satisfied long term as the 4th or 5th winger, so given all the talent in the Chelsea system, selling him to a club that values him more highly will happen eventually. Why not in January. CHO looks good, Mount is a mainstay, Ziyech is in form, Havertz gets a lot of winger minutes, and for some reason TT likes Werner. Fans are talking constantly about acquiring additional attackers. Seems a no brainer.

Yes, I am certain that he will flourish elsewhere, but most of you are not. He’s made of glass, right? So why not get some value for him now before he’s permanently broken?

No way he will be sold anytime soon. He is free lunch. a squad player that basically pays his wages in marketing revenues earned and expanding our US market share long term. Priceless commercial asset. Him not complaining about lack of minutes due to being out of contention for 50% of games he can hardly complain about lack of game time.

Well, next summer is crunch time. He would have only two years left on his contract. So, either we'll extend the contract or we'll look to sell him.

Is there any proof that he's actually bringing us profit in terms of marketing revenues? IIRC, he sells a lot of shirts in the US (or that might have been the USMNT one) but not sure that amounts to much and apart from that, I also don't see us acquiring a flow of US based sponsors etc or trying to advertise him everywhere in the US. Moreover, if he's getting injured more often than not, would he even attract sponsors?

Yeah but if he's fit, like in the second half of last season, he'll complain about the lack of game time, again like he did towards the end of last season.

I read that his kit sales are roughly in the same bracket as his wages somewhere but we all know that merch alone is not gonna cut it.

Short term it is advertising that should be the main Cashflow source but the club has done a terrible job of exploiting his immense marketing potential. Whenever he is injured he should be flown around the US selling some random  yank trumpery from whatever corp gives us most money for it. Instead we still cling on hopes that he eventually fulfills his potential here. He will never do so in such a physical league. He Ian a cash cow waiting to be milked and the club rather explore ways to do so sooner than later even if that means running his contract down. Exploited correctly he could well bring in more cash than the meager fee we gonna get for him anyway

mid term he has put Chelsea on a map for almost every American sports fan. Liverpool manure and arse used to be bigger across the Atlantic now we are pretty much as popular. Whenever i see snippets of a us network broadcasting one of our matches they have a huge event with thousands of fans waving our flag kn the middle of the night in the rain, cheering us on. Puli is a marketing gem. He himself is profiting massively from his popularity and it could be expected that the desire to see him play will e your broadcasters to pay more for our matches. Not sure this is laid out to the club or the PL centrally markets our games internationally but at least we should profit somewhere in terms of ads and tv money

long term, with the main face of us soccer of a generation inseparably connected to us instead of an other pl club is huge. Dads will tell their kids of how the first American to win the biggest prize in world club football did so with   Chelsea. If we continue to stay relevant over there we will have a foot in the door of every kid who starts to get interested in football for ages even long after Pulisics retirement

Trust me, Chelsea has lost a lot of American fans for its use of Pulisic. They know why Chelsea played CL football in the 2020-21 season. Squad player, ha. When he leaves it will be a good day for all concerned.
