I think it is of course due to the players around, the fullbacks not being an offensive outlet, not comfortable on the ball enough but also in the Serie A the DLP is hardly pressed as high as today. Jorginho has to evolve his game. But you could argue that they worked as a unit in Sarri's system. Right now, our system still has holes and because we have very few dangerous players going forward, teams can afford to man-mark Jorginho, Hazard etc while almost leaving others free because they know they won't cause problems. What I loved was that the defense never panicked in the face of that City pressing. Even towards the end of the first half the team was trying to calmly play its way out of the back instead of hitting it long. The team totally shut City down in the second half.
