He is getting a lot off flack on here for lack of goals/assists but I think if the £25m figure being reported is true, it is a bargain and would take him in an instance.

He's not average, he's just been playing in a position that exposes his weakness (end product), he's actually the exact type of player we were missing for Jose's double pivot and especially Conte's midfield two. However he must be signed as a Jorginho and Kante cover and not as a cheap solution to the attacking position of the 3.

As for Ampadu, his future's CB, he's an odinary midfielder but a (potentially) elite CB if/when he cuts out his rash tackles.

We are not playing a pivot. With RLC, I hope we stick to a mid 3. It suits him the best and he is a much better option to have than average players like kovacic.

He has played or rather tried for Madrid. Flopped. 

His best performances were with inter and those were Yeats back. He has shown absolutely nothing to be bought. Whenever he has played as a regista, we have looked hopelessly exposed. If jorginho is poor defensively, he is just pathetic. 

We need to stop spending big bucks (yes 26mil is a massive figure) on such players.

For 25m its a bargain for regista/Kante backup, we won't find that sort of value anywhere in the market. So big yes to that, he can still improve so much

In all fairness, 25m is worth a punt. Hes not been great, hes actually been disappointing in terms of when hes played in that more advanced role but 25m for a potentially very dependable squad player who can cover all 3 MF roles and hopefully would be used more at the base of midfield. Why not? I think if he could be more penetrative with his passing hed be a good player. Not outstanding but very rounded in terms of passing, dribbling, tackling... 25m for him wouldnt be the worst signing weve ever made. We spent 40m on Bakayoko and the cunt couldnt even run, yet alone dribble or tackle, so if its him or Bakayoko next season Id take Kovacic 100%.

He got lucky not being sent off bot other than that he was quite good. Kept the ball well, ran past United players with ease and actually made a brilliant tackle too.

And? Whats the point of running past players if your end product is 0. What does he give that RLC can't. 

I mean I have made my peace with the fact that he is literally useless. But at least don't try your best to get sent off too specially when the ref is being hopelessly lenient.

A useful addition would be one who can give the team something in attack or in defence. He is just pathetic in both aspects. Don't we already have deadwoods and enough baggage players around? What's worse is we have already had a season long audition for this guy, but somehow are deeming such a player "bargain".

And then we are wondering "how far the mighty have fallen".

He can actually hold the ball and draw opposition players out of their territory which allows space for our wingers and attacking players. For the way Sarri is looking to play, he is suited. He can get the ball from deep and you have confidence in him to hold the ball. Kante, whilst scoring more and more energy, he is sloppy in possession.  Like I say stats don't always reflect the whole story. It would help if he had a player alongside him who can shoot from distance but we don't.

Have a conversation rather than doing stupid laughing emojis constantly.  I am not downplaying Kante but please, don't exaggerate and say he is performing out of his skin. Yes, he has had to adjust his role slightly but he has been inconsistent. Especially for the hype he is given. He is useful for counter-attacking, however for possession based play Sarri is looking to play, Kovacic sorts that aspect more. Kante is good for recovering lost balls etc. 

"Piece of turd". Sums you up. Why is he a piece of turd? Because he failed to live up to your expectation. Like I say, his goal output is not good but bar that aside I will keep him. I like him.
