Probably very much in the minority but I'm warming to this signing. Gives us something different in the CM position, works his ass off for the team and gives us a bit of bite in the midfield.

I don't take much notice of transfer fees now tbh, its gone crazy and I've accepted it. Look at Jonny Evans attracting 21 million bids ffs.

Yeah, I'm with you on this.

Fee is too much but I'm not going to hold that agains the player, it's not his fault the market has gone crazy. As a player he's actually quite decent and look at it this way: knows the league, already has experience of playing alongside Kante and at his age coming from a lower side he's probably more than happy to accept a smaller role than the other midfielders in the team so for a squad player he has the potential to be a great signing.

He's one of those players who can be called upon to do a job in the league anyday but not quite enough to make me convinced when going up against the big boys in the Champions League, but unless something unexpected happens he wouldn't be in line to start those kind of games anyway.

So hold on a minute, a French media outlet breaking the news of a transfer between a Russian owned English club and a Thai owned English club for an English player? Sounds like a dodgy rumour at best, why would they be the first to report it?

That being said, I fully expect him to sign either way but it's not because of that latest tweet.

infosport or something in France broke Mourinho's sacking before anyone.

Looks like we're getting Ox, Dan, and another Fernando this week. If they're all done before deadline day, then can we expect one more on deadline day for left back?  Maybe the backups are Moses/Ox and Pedro for wingback.

I like the Ox signing. I think he will become an improved player at Chelsea.

He's approaching the peak years of his career.

Why would someone at that point in their career be happy with a place on the bench or a smaller role than he currently has at Leicester?

Can someone please answer this for me please without having to resort to saying that we need squad players....

He epitomises mediocrity and the complete reverse of player we should be going for and no-one here is going to convince me otherwise.

so he can retire having played at an elite club, for one of the best managers in europe alongside some of the best players, and hopefully have a good honours list to look back on

He can fight for his position. If he can to do this where is the problem?

Because you think that he isn't good enough to start  the game .

But everyone has already established that he is to be 4th choice here.

If that's the case then he's not going to get a look in is he?

Which brings me back to my original point...

He strikes me as a late bloomer that's only really kicked on in the last couple of seasons.

Who's to say he's reached his ceiling. He perhaps feels he's hitting his prime and fancies testing himself at a bigger stage.

If he works hard and performs I fully believe conte would play him over others if he deserves to play. That's the only true chance any player needs...
