I mean he is wanted or at least accepted by Conte and who can question Conte at this point? Also, he's homegrown, he proved himself in the Premier League and made a great partnership with Kante. What's so bad about this signing? The price tag, which is actually absolutely decent on the current market? The fact that he doesn't have a fancy name? Or the fact that his overall in FIFA will be a pain in the ass for all of us? I reckon he will only be the new Mikel. A very useful squad player, who knows the league and can help when needed.
