Giving him time is one thing but he's not helping himself by constantly going to ground, moaning to referees, is he? If he's putting in the effort at the very least, then I think the fans can give him leeway and be patient. But he's not and he's not even scoring goals. For all the antics that Costa used to do on the pitch last time, at least he scores goals on a regular basis.

His current form is worrying but it will take time for him to at least get back to early season form. Comparing Morata to Costa is unfair for so many reason. First Costa is tailored made for EPL, his game is all about physicality and aggressiveness which is rewarded in EPL. Plus he is familiar being the star striker for a team. Morata is far from finish article. If he can get stronger, we will have a very good all around striker in our hand.

Morata is better for Spain than Costa. Costa game is way too unclean for Spain, I am. Not talking about his temperament but his passing and his touch

That might be the case but Morata can't be first choice and fortunate to be in the squad at all on recent form.

The problem for Spain is that they don't really produce striker. Morata is their best bet for a no 9. If you watch Costa for Spain, it just feel wrong.

I agree but someone like Moreno (Espanyol CF) is in much better form. Don't always have to go for the biggest name

Spain were far too slow under Del Bosque the last few seasons when Costa played regularly for them. If they'd move the ball at the tempo they do now when he was in charge of his last tournament he'd of easily fitted in better because there would arguably be more space for him to get into. Technically he has got good ability and actually does see things but hes not at the level that some of the other strikers they've had in the past are but one thing that is clear with Diego Costa is if you give him the ball in dangerous situations or critical chances he will score goals. He is probably their best striker in that regard but I think Morata is maybe a bit more favoured as was Paco Alcacer at times under Del Bosque (Morata not so much under Del Bosque but) because how they would all link together with their midfielder and wingers.

Cliche, but:

"Good players practice to avoid mistakes, professionals practice until they can't make mistakes"

"Work ethic eliminates fear" - MJ

Notice how neither Drogba nor Lampard went through these kinds of rough patches in their careers where they kept missing chance after chance? There's a common theme there, and that's because they used to put the extra hours in the training ground...practicing free kicks and shots...both left foot and right foot.

Alvaro has the tools but he just needs the right mindset and attitude moving forward. He says he says has the inclination to do things right as the number 1 forward. Its time he puts it into action.

How many yellow cards is he on? Two-match ban incoming.

Bad but not exactly one we'll miss.. Just another sheva situation lacks confidence but every game he fails to perform and it ends up dented... That and he doesn't seem to think!

9 overall. 7 in league now.

EDIT: 10 overall. 9 in domestic competitions.

OOOKAY...I'm confused right now. Have seen journalists say he has picked up 10 yellows and will be suspended for next 2 domestic games but when I checked some sites, he's only 9 domestic YCs. So, which is right?!
