Tolisso and Lukaku would be a superb start to the transfer window. Hoping they both go through.

Honestly can't be one bit excited about Lukaku. I should be ecstatic about 80m£ transfer but not this one.

I am all in favor of signing more players from France.

Ligue 1 players and Chelsea are a formula that usually don't go wrong.

Specially a talented and all around player like tolisso.

It's a shame we didn't go all in for Bernardo Silva, we can't make the same mistake again

Refuse to get even a little excited about any so called bid in until that pen hits the paper. Heard so many times last year about us bidding and nothing coming from it, and I don't get why ppl ain't excited about lukaku either he's what 23 a giant of a man strong powerful and great finishing and was second top scorer in the league playing in Everton team imagine what he might do with the talent we have here around him ppl need to get over this big name syndrome lukaku will be a beast for us imagine a 352 with Diego lukaku and hazard just sat behind with Pedro kante fabregas new signing and Alonso in the midfield that gets me excited

I don't think he's going to go for £80m.

If he goes elsewhere, I don't care. If he comes here, I hope you mean he's not going to go for as much as £80m. :)

If we pay more than Belotti's buy out clause for Lukaku I will be seriously unhappy.

That's the price after negotiations already as far as today's reports.

I think Everton still owe us some money from the Lukaku deal so, even if that is around the final price, that'll be with add ons and the money they owe us will be redacted too. Must be said, this is just a whim though.

I doubt its a straight cash purchase. 80 mil is in my opinion only going to happen if there are several clauses, and if Rom activates them it should mean he was a good purchase anyway.

This would be a fun negotiation. Mariana of course will tell Everton that's she's only interested in negotiating 'gross' and then discounting our sell on clause thereafter. Everton will claim that other clubs are prepared to pay their fee in full and pay Chelsea's share on top. That's how selling clubs always want to deal with sell on clauses if their negotiating position is strong enough. Thing is, I'm not sure Everton's position is all that strong because few, if any of the clubs who can both satisfy Rom's ambition, and meet Everton's demands, are interested in him. It seems to me that those clubs pretty much all want to do better, and they certainly aim to do better.

I'd say the best plan for us is to let him go elsewhere, collect our share, and put it toward one of those 'better' options.

They say Bayern are interested in him. For the second time today, I find myself saying I'll believe that when I see it. If he is a £100m player, we should expect the elite clubs to be clamouring for him. I don't believe any of them have any interest in him whatsoever because they know the answer to your question. He has made the most of what he has and so will always make a contribution but his technical shortcomings will forever trap him below the highest level.

It's a good idea but the only other striker I think worth around that money is Belotti, and we haven't been too strongly linked with him tbh. Don't think Conte fancies him, or else we'd probably be all over him. I think the Lukaku deal is set, can't lie.

Edit:

Everton like to see themselves level with the elite clubs but that just isn't happening. They have to sell Romelu imo, and I think it'll be more around the £60m mark than the £80m. If this is the case, it's a pretty fair deal in today's market. I genuinely don't think Everton have the clout to demand £100m for Romelu, and the fact that they owe us some money at the very least gives us some sort of advantage to leverage down the deal.

Hes only what 23? I think he can become an absolute beast under conte he's second highest goalscorer in that Everton team he's done very well

Guys for crying out loud this isn't the Lukaku thread. Outside of a replacement for Moses, there's nothing i want more than Tolisso to come here. Please dont freak me out when the thread gets Hot! Thinking we are close to buying him . .

I don't know how to feel about this link. The last player we bought from them didn't do too bad, but I can't see what he exceeds at. Feel this move is too soon despite him being an investment.

In addition, I'd expect Traore to go the other way should that be our trump card.

Please get this done CFC.

Tolissl has the complete skillset, vision, playmaking, long range shooting, sound technically, the stamina, tackling/interceptions and under the guidance of Conte, Tolisso could turn into a any type of World Class CM he wanted to become. Lampard, Ballack or Vidal.

Really hope this signing happens, and quickly before Juve/Bayern come back into it.
