I said that if I was a manager I would think about it. For the record, Terry is my favorite current Chelsea player, I don't want to see him lose the captaincy. But it's not the amount of mistakes, it was the nature and timing as I said. It was not something that was unavoidable, it was not even something done in the heat of the moment, it was just plain stupid. Even if he is one of the best captains (on the pitch) in the world, a manager just has to put his captaincy into question when he intentionally does something that destructive to the team.

It's possible that Di Matteo thought about that, but decided not to act on knee-jerk reaction and let him remedy it. I don't think taking his captaincy away would do any good to the dressing room. He has been demoted already twice for England, it would devastate him and his camp (the majority) in the team even more. Furthermore, it would once again put Chelsea in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. By letting him keep the armband, they let it be what it was - a stupid and soon to be forgotten situation. Had he been demoted, it would have generated so many negative stories about Chelsea and put too much spotlight on him, the new captain and the whole club, that it would ultimately interfere with normal gameplay and delicate transitional period.

Having said that, I can see him losing the captaincy if he's found guilty in court. The club might be waiting for the verdict, if he's found guilty, they might consider it dangerous for the club's global image to keep him as their representative face. But if he's found not guilty, then there is no reason to poke the beehive any longer. Let both occasions sink into the past and rely on Terry having learned from his mistakes.

Really impressed me in the Euros and so so glad cause he'd been made out to be the scapegoat.Whoever was in charge of the cameras must have been confused of who was Captain..or just liked him cause every oppountity they showed him!Even at the end showing him walking around..kinda hmmmmm

How they fared at Euro 2012

JOHN TERRY

THREW himself into everything and marshalled the defence superbly. Unselfish, as always, and continually put Englandโ€™s cause before his safety.

A true warrior who justified his selection over Rio Ferdinand. But he does lack a touch of pace and isnโ€™t getting any younger. Could be the end of his international career.

9/10

I am happy to see JT & AC resting for two weeks before they go to America.

All those nicks & cuts need to be healed before the training camp, I feel.

After looking at Chelseaยดs PL schedule, the club should go 5 - 6 games undefeated. An early confidence to challenge for PL title would be a bonus.

JT getting praise from the English media?? :fainthv9:

I think the world is about to end!

And to add to that:

ROOSER ... Wayne Rooney had a poor tournament

WAYNE ROONEY

MISSED the opening two games through his own stupidity in the qualifying stage and never approached par in the two matches he did play. Was he even fit?

Scored a sitter against Ukraine but the fact is that while Roo is rated as a world-class player, he rarely shows it on the biggest stage.

'I did my bit for England'

Flashing fan is a millionaire boss

Tim, who lives in a ยฃ6million Surrey home near Englandโ€™s John Terry, owns a city trading company and heโ€™s spent a fortune following the Three Lions.

(he scored a brace against Genk, his only hattrick came against qpr)

Yeah oops but i edited it anyway. His assist in Benfica deserves a mention too, he did a lot in the UCL run.

Lovely to see Terry get praised and Rooney the opposite in our media lol, quite amazxing.... but our worst player in the tournament was Ashley Young without a shadow of a doubt.
