laeth 527
Mourinho had an interview with Canal+ this week.He said that:- Hazard is our boy, the image of the new Chelsea, here for the next ten years. - Cavani and Zlatan are impossible to buy. - He don't want to go to PSG or Monaco, he's here to stay. - We won't win the league because our strikers aren't good enough. - "I don't have a striker, Falcao doesn't have a team" (Monaco plays in a empty stadium, 2k per week)Someone said "what are you missing ?" José:"a good striker", "but you have Eto'o", José:"Naaaah, he's already 32 or maybe 35 idk"Did he really say that? =\
The Chels 2,502
Mourinho was surprisingly very honest in the interviews with Canal+. To the British press he implies our strikers aren't good enough by saying they're not the type to score lots of goals but they work hard for the team etc. and that we're not ready this season (intimates because of lack of good striker) but in these clips he just came out and said it.A subtle hint? He said it would be impossible to buy Falcao as he did with Cavani and Ibra, but you do get the feeling that with the whole 'I have a team... I don't have a striker... He has no team' chat the club may pursue Falcao in the summer, although I'd rather we didn't because of his ACL injury, and plus whilst he is a very good finisher I wouldn't say he's a world-class striker (not very good link-up play) and thus wouldn't warrant the outrageous fees we'd have to pay to get him.Did he really say that? =\Pretty much although Namika's translations are paraphrased rather than exact. What's so =\ about it?

kellzfresh 7,229
Would you like to coach a french team one day ?I am really really happy right now with Chelsea, which is more than a club for me, I have a special history with Chelsea. Also I like the current project/ambitions of Chelsea. But why not working in France in the future. I think that nowadays some leagues are less attractive than the BPL, because it's too easy to say who's gonna win the title, who will be the second... Right now in my career I feel that I need more suspens than that.Qatari's emir reallu likes you, you were his priority last summer, how did you manage to deny his proposals ?I didn't say yes or no, because I didn't receive any concrete, direct offer. Yes we have contacts and we respect each other, I had the honor to wisit his mansion in Qatar a few years ago, before he would buy PSG. But after Real Madrid I was very direct, I said to everybody my wish was to go back to England, to Chelsea, and I didn't want to encourage false hopes. Like right now when I say i want to stay at Chelsea, where I have a four years contract. Is PSG a favourite contender for the CL this year ?It's hard to call them favourites. PSG has some great players which are at the peak of their career, who have experience, so I think that if they win, it would not a big surprise. But if they don't, it wouldn't be a surprise either.Would you like to have Zlatan at Chelsea ?It's impossible. It's another topic on which i don't whant to entertain false hopes because it's impossible. I know he is happy at Paris because we have contacts. Paris doesn't want him to leave, and with their financial power, it's mission impossible. What about Edinson Cavani, is it mission impossible ?I think so, because PSG have spent a lot of money on him, he has incredible wages. Maybe not as impossible as Zlatan because Zlatan is more important in the club structure, but also very difficult. I don't know how the other club plan things, but at Chelsea we think the financial fair play is coming very soon. Some clubs seem not to be aware of that, but Chelsea now is working to be at the equilibrium, financially speaking. That makes some things impossible to Chelsea, or at least more difficult. But do you like Edinson Cavani's profile ?Yes I do, i think he's an excellent player. How about a switch Cavani/Hazard, is that possible ?No, Eden is our boy. It's our star for the ten years to come, around which we will build the team. He has this style of football, style of being that we want to have.Even for 100m euros ?That would mean there is no FFP. And even if there is FFP, we would have the money to deny such an offer.Thank You José Mourinho, you speak french so well, you will coach Paris or Monaco one day, won't you ?I speak english better.(laughters)What happened to the quotes where he said our strikers don't score? I also heard he said falcao shouldn't play in monaco?? Did he really say that??

As I stated in the Falcao topic, he is my favourite CF and I won't change my opinion and as much as I want him here, at the same time I'm worried about his knee injuries. Back in 2006 he suffered the same injury (torn ACL), but at the right knee. Now, it's the left knee, so basically we have a player who suffered horrible injuries at his both knees. I'm not a doctor, but this can't be good, this is one of the worst injuries you can get as a football player. For some it's even a miracle to be back at their highest level. Add to this the money Monaco would demand and Falcao's wages and this transfer seems impossible, as Jose said. But I wonder - no Cavani, no Falcao, no Rooney. Then who? Benzema (with Suarez going to Madrid)? Diego Costa? Balotelli? Jackson Martinez? The Chels

Mr_President 404
If those comments he made about our strikers are real then I have mixed feelings about it. Pretty harsh criticism which we fans know is true but I hope this spurs our strikers on rather than sinks their confidence etc.At least we know Mourinho recognises the striker position as a considerable issue, so much so that he has made comments like this. Here's to hoping that, along with his other recent comments regarding the same issue, the summer will bring us a capable goal scorer. This team isn't that far off being really strong, just a few final (expensive) ingredients.

Name one manager who openly slags of his own players? It was a ridiculous and egocentric comment to make. It's not like we create that much apart from counter attacks, set pieces & individual errors. Our entire offensive game-plan is pretty much give it to Eden and pray he does something.Ba, Lukaku, Eto'o, Sturridge, Torres are all prolific outside Chelsea. Why is this club a strikers graveyard? Lukaku barely played for us, Sturridge had a decent record for us actually. Torres was on the wane under Woy before he even got here and Eto'o's not scoring like he use to for the same reason Drogba didn't post double.
