It is getting to a point now where so many wingers are struggling at us, I am starting to wonder is it down to the player or perhaps the system just does not get the best of our players.

Two things:

1) he was never that good in the first place

2) he joined a rubbish team with very little quality in it.

It's one thing playing alongside the Messi's, Iniesta's etc of this world and it's an entirely different thing joining the shit on a stick football world of Chelsea.

Pedro could leave / be sold tomorrow and I genuinely wouldn't care. That goes for several players in this team.

Yes admittedly, he has been poor and must do better but it doesn't help that we are not using his quality to its potential. In the glimpses that we have seen so far, we saw what we can do. But unfortunately, we're trying to turn him into a different kind of player.

All Pedro can do is get the ball and run without even Watching whats going on around, untill he does something pretty stupid. Its really embarrassing to imagine Tatá Martino used to play Pedro over Neymar.

Reading the thread it's clear that mine is not a common opinion, but I really like Pedro.

He is a purpose built tiki-taka player in a team that generally speaking couldn't play tiki-taka against a bunch of 16 year-olds. We all want to see dramatic improvements to the squad over the summer. If that happens Pedro will fit in rather better than he does now. I hope those improvements happen, and I hope Pedro stays.

I'm not suggesting that tiki-taka is Chelsea's future but a team with better possession players who can move the ball more quickly, and with greater accuracy, will take better advantage of what Pedro brings.

I am of the opposite view.  I firmly believe that the Board will repeat the same pathetic fiasco of last summer by missing out on top quality players all in the name of FFP or whatever BS financial reason.  On top of that, our best players like Hazard and Costa will in all probability, be sold.  Hence, with a depleted squad worthy of a bottom half club and playing slow and turgid football, there is no place for Pedro.  He's better off in some other club where as you stated, plays fluid attacking football.

Thankgod I thought I was going insane for a while.

It's worth noting that similar things were being said about Costa before Christmas, post after post after post writing him off, forgetting what he gives at his best, and honestly I think in a lot of cases this is happening with Pedro, although unlike with Diego couple months back, we haven't yet had the benefit of an on form Pedro for a sustained period.

I widely mock Arsenal fans for forming their opinions on their players and Wenger on current form or in some cases the last result, but really are some of our fellow fans much better?

They could fuck up like last summer, but they could also pull off a masterstroke summer ala 2014/2012.

Our board isn't perfect, but reading these sheer conspiracy theories about how they are plotting to ruin the club is hilarious, its like listening to my 10 year old cousion thinking the whole family hate him when he's told he can't have something.

You may be right but this would in no way be opposite to what I said. :)

Moses is better for US than pedro.

He just is not suited for us. His stepovers are pointless to say the least.

Whats worse is that I cant see Hazard being here for the next season, oscar and pedro are not even top 4 PL material. We are in for years of disappointment and mediocrity the way we have set ourselves up.

Really embarrassing to compare people talking bad words about Pedro, with people who talked about Costa. Costa did great in Lá Liga with a side that is not as flamboyant as Barcelona, and he was eaily their main man for 13/14 Atlético's epic season. Costa was great for the 1st half of 14/15 season, and yes, he started this season pretty bad, but his problem was more related with being more concerned about starting fights, and lacking desire on the pitch (people thought about Fabregas and Hazard Having problems with Mourinho, but I'm sure Costa had big problems with José, his body language and effort really changes after Mourinho was sacked).

To other what you can say about Pedro? Did you really watched Barcelona games or just the most hyped ones, like El Clássico and Chapions League Finals? Do you remember a great game that Pedro played for Spain NT?

If you watched Barcelona's games, it was clear Pedro wasn't in the same level as the likes of Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, Ronaldinho, Eoo, Giouly or Deco, the attacking players I can remember of the Barcelona great sides of recent years. He was that decent player, that could converte some chances of his amazing side, but never a "key" player.

Playing for Chelsea he looks embarrasing, and I think its really strange that some people believe that there is a "tik taka player". He is not tik taka player, he is just a limited guy with Barcelona's brand on his CV,

Are fans actually believing that the Board is running the club intentionally? I don't.  However, their actions even if it's good for showy profits will damage the club on the field and ironically will further hurt profits.

I made a lengthy reply to this but internet cut me off and deleted everything, I'll write it up again in next couple of days.

Took his two goals well today. The second one, especially, was a cracking finish. Was mentally screaming 'WHY IS HE SHOOTING FROM THAT FAR OUT?!' just before he scored.

That's the Pedro we have been waiting for ? I hope there's more to come from Pedro
