This is a clever signing because if Mourinho pulls it off and he has a great season for us, we've found a perfect stop-gap signing. Then, if Monaco say they want to sell him for a certain amount of money, we're not forced to agree to signing him. Whether it works or not there is no obligation to pay the player, and it gives Bamford a year to establish himself in the PL before joining the first team in 12 months' time.
