Along with a change of manager at the end of the season? Unless you forgot to put us as CL winner :)

I would bet my left nut Mou sacked won't even be a consideration unless we dive out of top 4.

Yh I was just kidding but I think even if we are trophyless this season he won't be sacked because we just won the double. Maybe that is why he isn't bothered much about signing top class because he knows he is safe whatever happens so just relaxing and our current squad is more than good enough to challenge again.

I honestly think Mou has this job for as long as he wants it.

Him and Roman are completely different people to who parted company in 2007, back then Jose could have hand picked any job bar about 3 likewise Roman with manager's, neither have that luxury any more and in their time apart I think experiences for both have made them realise how lucky they were to have each other, hence the second coming, I can't see Roman wanting to risk another Scolari lite error.

In my opinion, I think we will have to drop out of the top 4 for Roman to as much as even consider giving Jose the boot and that won't happen (drop out of top 4), under Jose we will at very worst be challenging at a high level.

Both know which side their toast is buttered these days, take Jose respecting/accepting the decision to sell Cech to Arsenal despite making it clear thst it wouldn't have happened if he had the choice, imagine 2007 Jose if that happened? He would have hit the roof.

As for club's objective, I think major trophy (PL or CL) is expected, while Mourinho's objective will probably be to win both.

My 'realistic' opinion is we will win PL, one cup and hopefuly reach semis of CL. Dont think we have real chance to win it yet, but who knows.

I also hope we do our homework regarding youngsters and develop them (Zouma, RLC, Traore, Ake,...)

I cant make any guesses for next season yet without seeing everyones comings and goings.

But Im GUESSING that Mous number 1 priority is going to be Europe.

What I was wondering is what you guys would think if Mou turned around and said summet like

"I want us to concentrate on the CL so Im not going into the home competitions seriously and we arent going to try to win the league only come in the top 4. But what I want to do is to use the games to experiment with players/formations etc so when we do play in Europe we will have the best team of fit, rested players we can use."

I;m wondering if he would get a pat on the back for attempting it or a kick in the bollox from one and all. kick-in-the-balls_zpszlefrw7d.gif

I would be horrified.

The Champions League is so hard to win that even if you fully focus on that you are more likely to fail than succeed.

Main focus should always be the league, and whatever comes with it great.

I don't understand why you guys are saying that we can't win the champions league . This team is a really strong team if we can't win the Champs league now with this team , then i don't see us winning it in the near future. I think with Mourinho's brilliance and a world class signing only Barca would be able to challenge us in europe. As for Bayern, their team can be destroyed by some fast counter attacking play. As for Real Madrid, they have got a real good manager at their hands :D:D:D:D
