Klopp is building a good squad up there despite the criticism. They need another centre back, but if I were a Liverpool fan, I would be encouraged by what's going on there.

They need a keeper too. Not only that but whilst Klopp is building a good team others are kicking on too, too much stagnation in previous years will always be the downfall of the LFC.

Jim White is known to go against the crowd. When there were reports from numerous journos that United have agreed a deal with Everton for Lukaku, he came in and said it's all false and no deal has been agreed. Later jumped on the bandwagon inside 24 hours.

To back this up..

I agree about Liverpool looking better and better now. Don't think it's a stretch to suggest that they may replace Arsenal as that 5th title challenger. Arsenal going backwards as a club, Liverpool building something impressive.

Amusing how people are overrating Liverpool all of a sudden. They are basically doing an Arsenal, buying players in positions where there is no immediate need and ignoring their biggest issues in the squad - the defence and goalkeeper.

and it's not-so-amusing how some people kneejerk-overuse the word "overrate."

yeah, clearly it's poor judgment to commend Klopp and Liverpool for making the effort to build a solid squad despite continuing deficiencies.

Exactly. If they could lock down a solid cb, lb and gk they could become a real force in years to come.

Really? This time last week no one is talking about Liverpool building something good. One win over Arsenal and a couple of bids for players later and people suddenly think they're like super good.

It's contradicting to say they're building a solid squad when they have not and don't seem to be addressing their biggest weakness. A proper manager should be addressing the biggest problems with their squad before doing anything else, not stockpile players in areas they don't need and that's exactly what Liverpool are doing. Instead of splashing out 60 million (or whatever that amount was) on Lemar, they should be spending that on a CB, LB or even a GK.
