He had a hat-trick against Fulham, a brace against Stoke, scored against PSG, Arsenal and Man City (twice) too. He is inconsistent but as if the likes of Oscar, Willian etc weren't and aren't. They have played poorly so many times and yet got so many opportunities to get into form, improve themselves and the consistency going. But Schurrle or even Salah? Hardly got enough of the privilege.

Squad players have it so bad (especially at Chelsea under jose)

Sad truth is football has always been like that. Price, rep, relationship with manager...etc plays a huge role too

No offence but this 'truth' talk is kinda BS. Some other managers would have been less stubborn and given players more chances to prove themselves as opposed to just write them off when things go south. It's fine Mourinho has good relationship with the players but doesn't mean it's fine if he's letting them affect his management of the players. Mind you, if this situation was the way round, I would be saying the exact same thing.

Even if Oscar scores 4 own goals he'll still be in the starting XI lol.

Ancelotti refused to play the likes of Matic, Sturridge...etc. Pep refused to give Thiago many chances, his successors did the same so he wanted to leave. Simeones also has his best team, the likes of Adrian...etc eventually had to leave for 1st team football even though continuously impress for them when called upon. All the top managers are the same, some are more fair than others but overall they can't please all the players.

It is up to the players to prove themselves, patience and wait for their chance. For example Ramires benched for 2 months, didn't complain and now soon will be starting big games against because of injury to Fabregas...etc. I agree that sometime things are just not meant to be.

Doesn't mean they were right though.

You forgot to mention that Ramires was out injured for quite some time. He wasn't benched for 2 months.

Mind you, Schurrle, Salah etc haven't even moaned once despite getting limited game time (unlike some of our players in the past).

Waiting for the 'he is overpriced, shit...etc' brigade to come out now...Lets get Costa for 30m shouldn't we...Stop dreaming about Reus, HE WILL NEVER JOIN CHELSEA. Deal with it.

Remember what people were saying right before we signed Costa?

United & City were favourites to sign Hazard, we were the underdogs.

Yep thanks to winning the CL unexpectedly. Oh that and paying £6m agent fee+ £170k per week for Hazard. City was odd on favorite for him, he even came to Manchester to look for houses. It was a coup, don't think the club want to do the same with Reus because of his recent injuries and huge wages demands probably since 20m is too cheap. His agent would also most likely demand a Hazard type fee too.

His best position is also LW/CAM or ST anyway, Schurrle was a good LW too and turns out he can't really do it on the right as well. I think that is why we are not even gonna bother competing for him.

If we want a winger we should go for someone who is a step above what we have, not similar level or worse. Reus, Griezmann, Turan, Koke, all players who are much better than Willian and probably would be at a similar price if clubs were convinced to sell them.

This thread is filled with people giving unrealistic alternatives.

Reus is not going anywhere right now, and our chances of getting are rather slim with Bayern and Madrid in the race.

Griezmann has not even played a full season for Atletico.

Turan is slow (Mourinho loves his fast wingers) and barely has better stats than Cuadrado.

Koke is a genius but I don't see him as a winger - he plays in midfield for Spain and I believe any other team that signs him would use him there also.

Anyway last summer was our chance to sign a RW, we didn't. Now we're just settling for what looks like one of the best options available.
