Schurrle was very solid last season and he can improve on that. But he can't improve for Chelsea if he sold at the first sign of weakness. Besides if the Club sold all players that had a slump, Drogba would have been gone years ago, Lampard was average till Mourinho came along, Branislav didn't even play for an entire season when he joined, Nemanja Matic was hocked and now he is the best DM in the world. I'm not saying that Schurrle is going to be amazing but I will say that he has the potential to be amazing. He isn't a starter and probably never will be as long as Hazard is healthy, it must be said.

We play with like 60% possession in most games, we need people that are good in possession and holding onto the ball because even players with 80% pass completion and good ball retention look bad in our team compared to guys like Hazard and Willian who never seem to lose the ball ever.

That's the reason Schurrle doesn't fit, De Bruyne didn't last and also why I think Cuadrado will struggle. Not sure about Douglas Costa, never seen him play.

That is the club though. There were Torres fanboys with erections so raging hard for him they would have changed the entire team to justify his presence in the starting XI. The fans are quick to throw Schurrle under the bus for a new toy.

Never mind Torres, people forget that Schurrle is only 24 years old and he can definitely still get better. If others like Oscar, Willian (he's 26 already for that matter) etc can be given the time and patience to improve themselves, then why not Schurrle or even Salah? Granted, Schurrle's form and performances haven't been too great this season but he showed his qualities last season and earlier this season as well. We all praised him for it. You don't just suddenly lose those qualities and become a poor player overnight.

I don't think that "mystery illness" has helped given Mourinho mentioned that it affected his physical and mental state.
