Lol there are lots of players better than Cuadrado... its worth waiting to the summer because Willian does so much for the team and taking him out could be a stupid move unless its a major improvement on him like Hazard was on Malouda/Kalou. Doubt we had enough money to get Sanchez too, unless we sold Schurrle if that offer of 30m was true. But back then Schurrle was on great WC and we had no idea he will be this average.

On other hand its only matter of time before Sanchez moves from Arsenal again, but obviously not to us, he will be too expensive and I doubt Arsenal would even consider him selling here...

Well for a start I've already said Willian is better than him and good enough right now for us until the summer. If we lose Salah and Cuadrado comes in to be a player who comes off the bench then fine but to start ahead of Willian, don't see the point. Look you and many others can say Reus isn't coming to Chelsea but who knows? Also if he goes to Bayern or Real then someone has to go at one of those teams (Muller, Bale, Rodriguez, Ribery, Robben), thats why we should wait to summer, see where hes going then wherever he goes there will be someone who leaves because they feel that they won't get game time like Di Maria like Ozil the last 2 summers.

Why...he has played over 200 games professionally. It is not like he is gonna do something rash in the match because this is his 1st competitive game.

i won't even pretend to act like I know anything about him past his performances last summer in Brazil. I'm imagining Montero from swansea as his level of quality. If he is better then I will be a happy camper

Why...he has played over 200 games professionally. It is not like he is gonna do something rash in the match because this is his 1st competitive game.

Just so he can get some training in with the boys before he is thrown in the deep end. Sure football is a simple game, but its always a good thing for him to spend a week or so linking up with his fellow attackers, and even fullbacks, before being thrown in the deep end. Especially against the second best side in the league.

2. He scores a couple of goals from distance but probably 1 out of 10 shots or something. Don't hold your hope up on that one, Schurrle is probably a better player in this area, well the Bayer Schurrle was anyway.

He had a hat-trick against Fulham, a brace against Stoke, scored against PSG, Arsenal and Man City (twice) too. He is inconsistent but as if the likes of Oscar, Willian etc weren't and aren't. They have played poorly so many times and yet got so many opportunities to get into form, improve themselves and the consistency going. But Schurrle or even Salah? Hardly got enough of the privilege.

I respect your opinion on him, but I disagree.

Schurrle has scored quite a few goals, true, but it is his general impact on the play that I feel makes him too inferior to be a part of the Chelsea team. Players such as Willian and Oscar are inconsistent in the way that they dont contribute a lot of points (although Oscar has started doing so lately), but even when they have a poor game in terms of the attack, they still do a lot for the team in terms of dropping deep and pressuring throughout the game.

Schurrle to me is the opposite. When he is bad he is invisible, you cant really tell that he is on the pitch. When he plays well, he still leaves some to be desired in the defensive contribution.

I really like the guy, but it is obvious to me that he is a poor fit. Both gain from him leaving, just as it was with Mata.

How much have you watched him? It is true that he plays centrally a lot more this season, but that is an excuse in his favor if anything. His best season by far was the last one when he kept mostly to the right and got to engage players head on and run into the box from the side. This season he might have ended up with more points, but it is his contribution on the pitch that matters, and almost everyone agree that he has not hit the heights of the previous season.

Different positions lead to different stats. He might have more key passes now, but that only comes from having different responsibilities that come with playing centrally.

We need rounded players who contribute defensively as well, Schurle and Salah doesn't do that enough, more than Mata but still not enough, not as much as Willian anyway. They can make up by being extremely good up front but they are not so they lose out.

We're just gonna throw him on to the pitch with a team of strangers who've never trained or played with him before in such a massive game? Seems extremely farfetched.

As I said earlier, it would be a bit disrespectful to Willian or Oscar who have been hitting form recently to be instantly benched for someone who hasn't even trained with us yet.
