From what I've heard he was good last season out on loan and is a player Conte's been wanting to manage since his Juve days so he'll have a clear role in mind for him if he indeed is brought back. That and the fact Cuadrado would be starting the season having been at the club for a full pre-season regime gives me hope he'd come good if given the chance. Blue Colored Sky 1,807
Player is kept on Conte request even though he was certain to go to Juve. Early signs are that Conte has pretty big say about the playing squad here and I love it.

Stats 7,143
Good. At least Conte has no idea of loaning him out which does benefit us in anyway at all. If Juve or any other team want him, pay a transfer fee instead of this loan business without no obligation to buy.

Ryan Fong 2,776
I very much doubt Conte can improve Juan dramatically. It's fair to say he is not a talented player, not explosively fast and his moves were too predictable. I'll be more than glad to be proven wrong though, but to me his best achievement will be an average-ok sub.
OhForAGreavsie 6,075
The standard double-talk method makes deciphering Conte's comments difficult. He might mean that he likes Cuadrado and wants him back at the club, or he might mean he wants to sell Cuadrado but knows what has to be said to maximise the price. Blue_Fox_ 2,086
In a perfect world we'd be selling Ivanovic, put Azpi on the right flank and use this bloke as a backup rb in cup games or against weak opposition. We do not live in such a world sadly.

Still for me the best situation would be trade him in for someone with Juve. Bonucci is hard to get then why not Lichtsteiner?

Ryan Fong 2,776
I suspect that Conte has something like this in mind. Yeh hopefully yes. Since we are so desperate for competent defenders why not use Cuadrado who apparently Juve likes as leverage to get some fine defenders. If we can't pull Koulibaly off I really wouldn't mind our back line with Lichtsteiner (Aina); Manolas (Cahill); Zouma (JT); Azpi (Baba). I know it's still not ideal because of the poor subs but still a fairly good upgrade of what we have now.

My criticism of him has always been that he is prone to too many mistakes. I used to say that you could rely on him for 2 or 3 errors per game, but he did better on that last season. Minus those errors, we have a potential player there. I also think Tomori must start to become a factor in first team squad planning. He had a brilliant season last term. Iggy Doonican 4,186
Cuadrado isn't cut out for the premier league that's the bottom line. When we played Stoke when Shawcross clattered into him Cuadrado yelped like a little girl I was in the West Stand and you could hear it quite clearly. It was a hard challenge but after that and for the rest of his time with us he completely went into his shell. Can you imagine a right side of him and Ivan ? God it's a horrible prospect. Â Cuadrado was great last season and Conte knows how to get the best out of him and the right side would be much better in defense because Cuadrado is good at defending he has played for Juventus as a RWB and he was great. Playing well for Juventus is not the same as playing for Chelsea it's a lazy comparison. Harry Kane was brilliant for Spurs yet terrible for England that in itself is probably a lazy comparison. What I saw of Cuadrado was as IÂ said someone without the physical attributes to cut it in the Premier League. As the old cliche says '' Could he cut it on a Monday night in Stoke? '' Cuadrado couldn't cut himself shaving.
