🇧🇷 Filipe Luís

Luis deserves to go somewhere where he's going to play consistently. You have to respect him for not ever sulking or showing frustration at lack of game time, he must see that Dave is putting in some great shifts at LB.

While the argument of whether he should have ever been signed might remain, the fact is he will leave here with a English domestic double to his name.

It's not that he 'deserves' to be sold, as if being a fringe player at Chelsea is only slightly better than starving to death in Somalia; I mean everyone on here has almost certainly considerably worse fates to their lives than Luis if he sits another year on the bench.

He should be sold because his market value is only going to drop exponentially if he spends another year on the sidelines, especially given his age. We should sell him because we'd lose a lot of money if we don't.

we all know he is good in attack, its the defensive side of his game that matters.

its all about balance. we want eden to have a free role (or as free a role as anyone can have under jose). so we need someone who is solid defensively, and azpi fits the bill perfectly. i dont want us becoming arsenal where both the full backs are in the opposition box while the opposition counters and scores. azpi gives us balance, luis simply does not.

people saying that its cos of jose's lovefest with iva is ridiculous.

Stop it lad. He's miles better than both Azpilicueta and Ivanovic and it isn't be a debate. Only a handful of fullbacks can pull off that assist yesterday. Juventus, Atletico, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern the elite teams all play with offensive fullbacks stop acting like it's a foreign concept in football that's only limited to Arsenal.

Offensively. They're both better defensively IMO.

oh.. thats true.. probably thats the reason that JOSE FUCKING MOURINHO has him benched behind both ivanovic and azpilicueta. like always, a LOL-MAX opinion from gilvorak.

infact, i think he so many miles ahead that jose thought it unfair on the other wingers to play this god of a fullback.

i mean he is so far ahead that we are thinking of selling him and replacing him with ake/toby.

Highly doubt that. Azpi is the better defender when it comes to playing deep and the reactive Mou plays, but when it comes to playing aggressive football and high pressure Luis every day of the week. Luis is better then Ivanovic on every aspect except set pieces.

When you play on the counter, they are better options. Iva is a CB that has been played out of position for years. Remember that.

Not really, there are two ways to play on the counter an aggresive way and passive way. Alti and Dortmund plays aggressively on the counter, allow you to get to a certain point and they aggressively pressure you to create counter. A passive way would be how we sometime play in big games wait for the attackers to make a mistake and counter.

Ivanovic playing out of position does not make him a better option then Luis, and secondly he has played almost exclusively as a RB since arriving here. Who is to say to he is playing out of position?
