1- If it's irrelevant and you don't care, why did you pull out that crap stat in the first place if your point isn't to prove that he's good aerially?

2- Can you please provide me with a link to that source you used that provides only the total number of won duels (10 as you claim) but not the overall attempted duels? That seems a very weird manner in which to provide the stat. Unless you're saying that you yourself have counted his won duels alone!

Can anybody explain to me why we play so many long balls to him? For his height and mass he is simply below average in aerial battles, such a waste to lump it up to him.

Once Falcao fucks off we should find a target man to complement the team and attacking options. I hear there is a beast Ivorian tearing up the MLS in America, should look into it.

all that stat shows is how bad we are as a team to even be playing long balls up to him! we should be keeping the ball on the ground and be trying to open teams up by playing through them!

no it isnt! go back and read what i said! i never said that stat to try to prove Costa is good in the air, because fact is Costa is just as good/bad in the air as Aguero, Suarez and Benzema why because none of them are target men! the only reason why i mentioned Costa has won 10 headed duels this season is simply because @Chulo19 tried to make out that he hasnt even won 1 single headed duel this season! he got proved wrong now he is looking desperate trying to show how many were unsuccessful as if anyone is even debating that Costa is good in the air!

Long balls are the only option sometimes , in a team bereft of attacking instructions.

I hate it when he is on the flank and no one is in the opposite box to finish the ball... I don't know if Mou told him to stay more on the flanks or he decides to do this, but look at the game against WHU - in the first half we are making good attack and no one was in their box. And it's not only in this game, that happens most of the time. I'm sure he could be more helpful for the team if he stays more often in the opposite box.

I think at this point I should explain my point: My point simply is that Costa is a shit header of the ball. And that it annoys me. This is irrelevant of the team's style of play or even his position. Heading and aerial duels are part of the game for every player bar the keeper and for Costa's height and strength he really should be doing A LOT better. And that has nothing to do with his 'game' but something he can and should work on because it comes in hand for any team.

While that 10/37 stat is definitely inflated due to our playing style, we've seen that Costa is bad in the air last season as well, winning only 29% of his headed duels in the PL. A striker that physical and tall shouldn't be losing so many of those duels, no matter what. One can work on headers, positioning and timing when to jump are one of the few things in football that are easily improvable.
