Yes, 2 or 3 guys wanted him out. But that's it. There are dozens of people wanting Costa out, it's not even close.

There were 10 posts a day and not by "3" persons saying stuff like sell Eden when he is still worth something, sell him soon before other clubs realize he is garbage...and similar shit. I wont go by names but I remember few, tho its pointless.

Its the same thing going on with Costa thread. We would look very stupid if sold Eden and all Im saying, Costa being in bad form right now doesnt equal selling him to china for 100m, buy someone else and we will be much better. For all you know Belotti or whoever else might flop here and same people would blame the board for selling Costa.

Its clear as day he is in bad form, he has bad touch and recently a bad finish too. But despite that he still contributes to the team in nearly every game.

What is dissapointing is that people want him out and calling him names after HE performed absolutely amazing till january.

In other words, we wouldnt be first if we didnt have him this season. No other striker performed better than Diego in first half of season. Not even Lewa or Suarez if you ask me, given the differences of the leagues and teammates.

If Diego leaves, so be it, we will have damn hard job finding replacement. But these knee jerk comments about selling players the moment they hit bad patch are what bothers people and me.

It makes the fans look like cheap followers with neighbours grass is greener or spoiled kids mentality.

Regardless of Costa form atm, there is one thing without him we would not be on two titles in last three years. Some appreciation and respect would be nice.

But a lot of them are, the amount of abuse Costa and Matic are getting is unbelievable, you could believe we're in the same situation of last season by reading these comments.

I don't even like Cahill, but i'll support him until the end of the season at least, the team is working ffs.

True but the comments here were like stop chanting to Costa and tell him he is shite in attempt to tell him he is not replacable...awful

One more thing I want to say. I won't be mad, sad or whatever if he stays.

If he stays, ok - we have very good (not excellent), not so reliable striker in our team. But then his backup MUST be good. Not Michy, maybe not even Llorente or I don't know. That second option must be good, and that second option must get minutes, whenever Costa fucks up. So - in lot of cases.

I don't have that much problem with him staying, I am having problem that he is considered a lot better than he is, among our fans, and that he is praised for his "attitude", which is not good at all.

He's never signing a new contract then. Wonder if this will prompt the club to sell him in the summer since he only has two years remaining.

Maybe one final full season.

I fully sympathize with the need to be outdoors in sunshine and that N. European/U.K. and N. American upper latitude weather is absolute shite for those of us who like to be outdoors and enjoy the sun and people outdoors.

I just want him gone because I don't think he sees himself here for long. We should cash in on him because he'll leave regardless. He'll never be fully settled here.

It's clear to see he has his sights set elsewhere. Time for the board to get a replacement lined up for July.

Lewandowski is out for Bayern in the CL tie tonight - worrying, yes, but not the end of the world, and you'd still consider Bayern to be at least equal to Madrid.

If Messi or Neymar is out, worrying yes, but you still expect Barcelona to win.

If Dybala is out, you still expect Juve to win.

But when Costa is out? (even with his form this year.) Shambles. The walls would crumble down around us, and whoever we're against would instantly be favourites, in a CL tie at least.

Why oh why are we the ONLY top club winning league titles, that try and get by with only ONE top striker? Juve, Man City, United, Barcelona, Madrid, PSG, even Benfica, Monaco, Atletico Madrid...They all have options when their main striker is out for whatever reason. Yet we wonder why our striker ends up mentally exhausted? We wonder why our striker stops fighting? Rocket science...

We're never in that boat which has OPTIONS. For years now, we never have a rotation strategy for our striker(s). It sickens me. The exact same goes for Hazard too, and Luiz, and Kante. 1 single main player being out is terrible for us, but not nearly as terrible for any other team, even Arsenal & Liverpool. I'm all for romance and not just buying big names to excite fans, but you need quality on the bench, big name or not. Only twice under Abramovich have we had a better scenario (so is it HIS order?); Anelka + Drogba; Eto'o + Ba. That's it. The only time we've had strikers as good as eachother; the only time we wouldn't pull our hair out after finding out our striker's ruled out the day or night before a game.

Costa isn't quite as troublesome as the way we're still being managed. This is why I see the likes of Silva & Mbappe as BENCH players, not damn automatic starters like most would have them. It absolutely ruins their mentality. No player can resist decreasing in quality if their place in the lineup is a given.
