diego relies on chances in the box, something he wont get here. so i'l go for the striker who can dribble past one marker, can jump and provide holdup play and can finish from 25-30 yards on either foot.

Costa can dribble sometimes, but he has no hold-up play and can't shoot from outside the box. It's not his fault that he's playing for a team that can't create chances but that's how it is for us. We would be better as a team with a striker who can cope better in our teams current situation.

There is nothing I hate more than seeing someone trying to justify a striker's bad form and performances on the rest of the team. Well, guess what? A bad striker affects the rest of the team just as much; it makes wingers look bad for instance, if their striker isn't finishing their crosses and passes. Diego Costa has been terrible and it is not because of the team, it is because he has been terrible. It doesn't help that the team is pretty bad too.

He gets his chances and does nothing with them.

He got enough chances last year to score 20+ goals. So I imagine if he and the team ever get back on their feet he'll be scoring again.

cant agree with that, a striker is only as good as the players behind him, if you dont give your striker service he simply wont score many goals, its not like Costa has bad movement like Torres, Costa has very good movement, but just doesnt get the ball played through to him often enough, i would agree with you if Costa had missed a lot of good chances this season but i cant think of many chances this season that i can look back on and say 'Costa should have scored that'

I can see the frustration some have with him this season, at times he does try to over do things and tries to take on a whole defense on his own and he does drift out wide a lot, but i feel he does these things as he is frustrated with the lack of service he gets, so he tries to do things on his own and he drifts out wide just to get involved in the game, because if he just stayed up front with our slow build up play he would barely get a touch of the ball

I disagree with that entirely. Diego Costa could easily have the same amount of goals as Mahrez or Igalho if his form were better. He has had the chances, he has screwed them up. Costa gets ample service for a player of his 'calibre'.

Everytime he has dived with the ball in the penalty box. I can't think of any exactly (I could be remembering wrong, from last season), but I'm sure that he has chances to at least get the ball on target but he has fucked up by taking a touch or diving. I just expect that a £32,000,000 striker to have the ability to score from even the most unlikely passes or crosses.
