Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
I was negative, but it's nice to be surprised for once. Especially a goal from Ba in the 87th minute. Tell me you forecast that? Tell me you didn't have your spinker get tight cause the end of the European Adventure was near?I didn't forecast a Ba 87th winner but I did believe we would win! Never had any doubt we would do it, we ALWAYS do it. Beirut_Blues
Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
BTW that Demba Ba goal to send us to the semis is already more valuable than any of the goals Torres has ever scored for the club.

Popular Post! GodZola 630 Posted April 9, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted April 9, 2014 There were a few of us, perhaps a handful who still believed that we would go through after last weeks poor defensive errors - the pessimism on here was at its ugly worst, I really hope some fans learn a valuable lesson and not write us off when anything is achievable especially when we have a world class manager and a team full of players who have been there and got the tee-shirt before, the experience we have had over the years in this competition is invaluable and it breeds down from the old hands to the new players who will then take it on to the next generation.I stated last week that I wasn't impressed with PSG, they certainly have some decent players but are no team and was proved right by saying these are the nights when our crowd will get behind us, I had nothing but confidence in us going through but I must admit time was going against us, but we wouldn't be denied. PSG had a good second half in Paris but it was our own sloppy mistakes that led to our downfall i knew we had every chance of turning this tie around. Shirley prob had his best game, Cahill and Dave simply immense but Luiz again proves he has what it takes in midfield, awesome performance, if he could just sort out his passing which he has in his locker then we are on to a real winner. Not bothered who we get in the semi's, with our solid defence team spirit and experience in big European ties we can beat anyone - preferably without a 2 goal headstart to our opponents, please! Yeah there was a few pessimistic posters, but those are practically the ones that were pessimistic even before the first leg. The vast majority were very positive and half the posts in the prematch thread were "Believe" and "We can do this" and "Napoli 2012". CHOULO19 24,332
Talking of overrated players.......VerrattiSaid so since last season when everyone was hyping him up. Imo, he doesn't have the discipline to be a top player, not on the ball, not off it, not in his general conduct on the pitch.
GodZola 630
Sorry mate but that's bollocks, it was fucking suicidal on here for the last week started by the Palace defeat & then topped by getting beat in Paris. Yes if you want to be pedantic then there were posts stating about Napoli but how many posts believed we would go through and not just talking about the match thread? Most posts were going on us conceding that awful 3rd goal and as I said last week if we hadn't of conceded it then there would of been a completely different reaction. Barbara 15,149
Crespo you know a club is special (or a manager is) when ex-players keep showing love and love and love - gratuitously, because they don't owe anyone anything. No matter how little they stayed or how long, we have so many testaments to that, so many players passionate about us.It makes us special and makes me so proud! sutro, Tomo and CHOULO19

Of course the comments right after the first leg and the Palace were pessimistic, that's just that passion in football. But once people calmed down, there were much more positive vibes than negative especially after the win against Stoke. If you just have a look in the prediction league thread, you'll see that only 2 out of 23 posters predicted a score line that would see us knocked out of the competition. But if you insist on seeing the empty half of the glass then that's all you'll see.you know a club is special (or a manager is) when ex-players keep showing love and love and love - gratuitously, because they don't owe anyone anything. No matter how little they stayed or how long, we have so many testaments to that, so many players passionate about us.It makes us special and makes me so proud!Couldn't agree more. In fact, I've made this same point a couple of times before. Even if you go pre-Roman you'll still find players that just adore the club despite playing for other teams in their career like Guilet, Desailly, (though I'd exactly like those two too much ) Petrescue...etc. Barbara

Personally it bothers me so I tend to stay away from post match threads when we lose. But it's only normal with the passion in the game.Fortunately though, when it matters, everyone gets behind the team like what happened before yesterday's match. I just can't understand why you feel the need to try and change that. But if that makes you feel good or feel like a better fan than everyone else then suite yourself buddy.
