if we had an ounce of sense we would had closed out the damn Marcelo Brozovic deal back then or bought Thomas Partey  or Leander Dendoncker

Yeah I never understood why he wasn't given a bigger chance. At first it was a visa problem, but that couldn't be the case for the last three seasons as he has been playing for some top teams and playing well.

All jokes aside, he must have been able to. He has played for the national side and clubs spend lots of money for him.

I honestly think Atalanta have a great shout at winning the CL. They have something crazy like 97 goals in 33 games in Serie A. In one off games, they will be uber dangerous as they just attack non-stop for 90 minutes.

If Atalanta can beat PSG they can beat anyone. Really struggle to keep the ball out of their own net but have a real tendency to get a lot of goals. Who knows if they could go all the way, they’ve  done remarkable to get this far and do so well in Serie A and when you see teams like these do well you always root for them a bit because it would mean so so much and throw a spanner in the works.

Former Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand described Chelsea’s decision to sell Mario Pasalic as ‘crazy’ during Atalanta’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain. The 25-year-old spent six years at Chelsea without making a single appearance for the club. He completed a £13million move to the Serie A club earlier this year after spending stints on loan at Monaco, AC Milan, Spartak Moscow and Elche. The midfielder showed his best form on loan at Atlanta and the Italians decided to sign him after he bagged 15 goals in 75 appearances for the club.

Chelsea will argue that the £13m they received will help offset big money purchases for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner but Ferdinand says it’s ‘crazy’ that the midfielder was sold, particularly as he was never given a chance to impress in west London.

‘Crazy, It’s crazy!’ Ferdinand told BT Sport. ‘He was a Chelsea player for six years! They’ve just sold him for £13m’. Pasalic scored in the 27th minute against PSG and it looked as though his goal would be enough to send the Italians through to the last four of the Champions League. However, the Ligue 1 giants equalised in injury time through Marquinhos and they grabbed another just moments later through Chupo-Moting to break Italian hearts. The French side will face either RB Leipzig or Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.

Typical overreaction. Pasalic has done well at Atalanta and fair play to him on that but just because he's done well for them, it doesn't mean he will do well for us. It's easy to forget that he went out on loan to other clubs before finding the right one at Atalanta under Gasperini, who is making them perform beyond expectations. Would he be able to perform in another team or under a different kind of manager? Furthermore, would Pasalic have been content with sitting on the bench and be a squad player for us? (Barkley might but still needs to be binned!) Pasalic might seem like one that got away but this is not another De Bruyne or Salah situation, IMO.
