Supporters are happy that Mata is playing central, but you know what i think Cole is the happiest. For all the good Mata has done for the team, he was poor tracking back and constantly left Cole exposed. Moving Mata central has helped Cole performance and the rotation with Bertrand has done the same. He can play at a high level for another 1-2 years as long as we can manage his playing time.

Plus the mentorship he has provided for Bertrand is invaluable, and Bertrand can still learn a lot from one of the best LB of his generation.

Playing Ryan as the left winger won't be a bad tactic.To know that we are going to start a 22 year old who we bought for 125.000 pounds shows that this club is making significant youth implementation and the credit goes all to RDM!

Good shift by Bertrand hopefully DiMatteo stays and we get to see more of the players that break through the chelsea academy get some game time but the future looks bright for Bertrand.

Unbelievable, just playing in that final will have made his chelsea career - he will take massive confidence now to taking over from cole as first choice over the next couple of seasons.

Cole as he gets older needs to be rested more, he has played near constantly for the last 5 years but i'm fully confident in bertrand to make the left back spot his own.

Well, I was afraid, but the guy played a decent match. I think no one could ask much more than that from a player making his debut in european football just in a UCL final.
