Laylabelle 9,535
Not exactly true. Chelsea are appealing under the "let the punishment fit the crime" umbrella. They acknowledge he needed to be sent off but three games is way to much for a push. This isn't a wrongful sending off appeal.Be surprised if that even happens...that push could've been damaging. The FA do dont common sense most the time

DYC. 7,542
No Barnes punishment for foul on Chelsea's MaticNo action will be taken against Burnley striker Ashley Barnes for his challenge on Nemanja Matic, the Football Association have announced. The Serbian midfielder was sent off for pushing Barnes after the forward caught Matic halfway up his leg.The FA say they cannot take retrospective action as the incident was seen by the match officials, with Barnes receiving a booking for his part.http://www.itv.com/news/update/2015-02-23/no-barnes-punishment-for-foul-on-chelseas-matic/http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2015/2/23/8089939/ashley-barnes-tackle-nemanja-maticThis tops everything. Costa was public enemy no. 1 after his alleged stamp and they even tried to blow up Ivanovic's minor incident, which didn't even deserve to be called an incident. Barnes almost breaks Nemanja's leg and they make up an imaginary booking (who cares if he was booked anyway, ridiculous rule).Bravo. kellzfresh

CHOULO19 24,332
Barnes was never going to get charged. The FA rules don't allow it (although the interpretations of these rules seem more and more subjective with each incident). The system is fundamentally flawed and that is not the fault of the FA alone but the clubs and referees as well. The Ivanovic one was so desperate. 'Headbutt'? I didn't even know how to react. Yet elbows and late/disgusting tackles are ignored. And where is the focus on the blatant penalties being ignored? Makes it hard not to accuse the FA of at least some bias.

Sorry but how is this ridiculous "The ref saw it to some extent so we can't retrospective ban him" rule not the fault of the FA? They make the damn rules and bend them whenever they like. The ref must have seen Costa's 'stamps' as the ball was right there next to the incident, what else would the ref be doing, looking at the birds? But he still got a retrospective ban.The FA have no morals, shame and even though a rulebook does exist they only abide by it when it suits them or their agenda. They're a corrupt, contemptible shower of shit. commilin, stroey, kc_blue and 2 others
mannyfreshh 164
We managed to scrape our way in a title race without him prior to his arrival. Can't see us not winning any of the games. This year we've badly on games with him not playing.. I hope you are correct
mannyfreshh 164
So all those games we played and won without him before he came last January were flukey? He's an important player but you guys need to relax. The problem is we have played badly this year in games he misses. We depend on matic a lot.

We have a good team and we will compensate for him missing games. mannyfreshh
Sheva. 5,373
I'll have little problems with Matic missing if Mikel was available.Ramires-Fabregas is just too attacking a pivot, reminds me of when we played Ramires-Lamps and the latter was chasing the goal record.Lampard would always fly into the box, leaving reckless Ramires alone in midfield. Vybz Kartel 1,613
From media reports it looks like his not going to escape a ban, even worse might get his ban increased to 4 games
Laylabelle 9,535
Media know much as we do plus we have till today to submit evidence so its just them creating headlines.extra ban wouldnt make sense in this case
DH1988 1,348
Going round on the radio this morning that the ban won't be lifted, obviously take it with a pinch of salt until we get something official but I wasn't expecting much.
