I'm so furious.. I'd say, retrain Oscar as a deeplying-playmaker or buy someone like Xabi Alonso, buy a new CB and RB and start playing Lukaku up front. Our midfield needs to sharpen up... We have been overplayed in our midfield too many matches this season. Even if we will qualify for the last 16 this performance was awful and in my opinion we shouldn't even be top 2 in this group. José has just said what I imagined, he didn't want to change the players or system from the West Ham game because the performance was so 'good'. I think we know now that some of that was down to how shit West Ham are instead of how good we were. A well drilled Basel are no comparison to the pikeys.

Hard to say but a loss like this was thoroughly deserved. Awful performance. No signs of wanting to win the game and seems like the tactic was to just defend and get the point and while we are through I hope Mourinho takes note. I like Lamps and while I think some of the criticism he has got this season has been harsh, he should not be playing every single game. He is fucking 35 and should be used as rotation. Mourinho needs to realise he is not the same player from when he had his first reign at the club but tonight the performance was just dire and horrible to watch and no one really played well IMO. Basel deserved the victory. With all respect we are quite lucky that the other teams in our group have been inconsistent.

Mata been an unused sub for the last 2 games. Hope things are refreshed a little against Southampton and he proves a point and we recover from this awful performance tonight!
