Sir Mikel OBE 4,920
Watching Mata tonight try to play Oscar's style just proves to me how awesome of a Player Oscar is.He makes the defensive work look so effortless, when it clearly takes a lot to get into such positions.Oscar is the Number 10 this year. You build squads around players like him.

You build squads around players like him.It all depends on weither he can keep that form, we've seen what he's capable of when he's in form, we've seen how sloppy he can be when he's not. Same goes for Mata and Hazard, and well anyone really. But I agree, atm he's our 10.

haranr 485
Mata is a way better number 10.
didierforever 7,349
this performance should pretty much settle the debate. oscar simply is not on the same plane as mata when it comes to creativity.against big teams u need to score goals to win matches because good teams will find a way to score against u. so the only question we need to ask ourselves is, do we have what it takes to score 2 goals against big teams like united, city, arsenal, pool, tottenham, everton, without mata. the answer is pretty much clear to me. a BIG NO. Ainsley Harriott 2,732
like silva and mata in valencia. i dont see why not. If Mata had had his legs since the beggining of the season that's the way it should've been
didierforever 7,349
If Mata had had his legs since the beggining of the season that's the way it should've beenu cant expect someone who has played just 45 minutes in the whole pre-season, coming out of an injury to start the season with a bang. i think mata's absence had a lot to do with his match-fitness and physical fitness which just got blown out of proportion by every1. I wasn't criticising Mata, I agree with what you just said.. That's why I said "If Mata had had his legs since the beggining of the season"

chelseathebest 150
I believe Mata is a better no.10.Oscar has a better work rate, but he is nowhere near Mata when it comes to creativity.I believe that Mata is a player you build your squad around, not Oscar. Oscar might be that player in few years, but not just yet.

Sidzeret 2,257
Play them both and let them interchange throughout the matchYeah...no-brainer for Jose and build the rest of the team around them.............................and sign a CM in January
Blue Warrior 109
Juan Mata is the star and his quality of pass and finishing is yards above Oscar. Its all about influencing the game. Juan Mata needs to support Oscar and aid his development into a future star. Mata would have scored Oscars chance and is clearly a better decision maker under pressure. Its a squad game and everybody has a role to play.
Symbol123 175
Lol this whole case is way too reminiscent of the situation at Madrid with Ozil and Isco, they've definitely been missing Mesut's creativity so far.
