Waterfall 893
Lukaku would be a better option than Eto'o at this time.I think Jose respectfully disagrees, or at least Eto'o would be better than Torres and Ba.
Stats 7,142
Lukaku has no experience. The pressure is high and it could damage his.mentality, if the media starts a campaign after some.shitty games. You only gain experience by playing. Also he does have experience as he already has a full season of playing in the PL last season with WBA.
Milan 17,957
As Rooney wants to stay, Eto'o will surely be the one. Let's hope he will fit well.
Reddish-Blue 2,506
No experience? It seems to me he scored more goals in the PL than Eto'o, right? He has no Chelsea experience because they don't seem to find the balls to put him in the team and give him a chance. You know what would damage his mentality? NOT PLAYING HIM.I don't mind him being a supersub, but come on? Putting Torres ahead of him? As a sub in a locked up game like this one? Sorry but I can only explain it as a total lack of thrust in his abilities...Well said. I'm not going to jump into conclusions..because we have only played 3 games so far...I just hope Lukaku isn't treated like Sturridge. The major problem with not playing talented youngsters regularly is that, once they get the chance to impress...they try too hard to show off all their skills and end up having a bad game. johnnythefirst 1,076
I think Jose respectfully disagrees, or at least Eto'o would be better than Torres and Ba.Well, as much as I respect him as a manager, I strongly believe he's dead wrong in this case. You can burn me all you want.

nadavTKL 1,787
As the link above says, tommorow there will be a meeting between Chelsea and Eto'o's agents to try to close the deal. Seems like its happening.Di Marzio also says we are even willing to think about a 2-year contract which is important for Eto'o.
Toli 977
Tancredi Palmeri @tancredipalmeri 24m Chelsea and Eto'o agents have scheduled a meeting for tomorrow afternoon according to Sky Italy. Could be the decisive one
LegenTerry 273
1 year deal for Eto'o sounds good.Ba out, Eto'o in. Decent business.Torres out, worst player in squad but we can still recaive more money for him then from Ba

Sorry but I can only explain it as a total lack of thrust in his abilities...He has came on in 2 of the 3 games so far, he is getting slowly nurtured into the mentality of having to win every game you play which is the right thing to do, he is getting a chance this season, their is a big difference between getting a chance and pining your hopes on someone, which half this forum seem to want us to do with Lukaku.RVP and Ronaldo spent a lot of their first season at Arsenal and United on the bench (sometimes not even coming on) and they didn't end up too bad, did they? Vybz Kartel 1,613
How we moved from Falcao, Cavani, Lewandoski, Rooney, Martinez to Etoo I do not know. This striker business has been really handled badly by Chelsea

ChelseaFanUK 1,014
Sky Italia are wank, but Di Marzio seems to be on the ball usually. I'd file Eto'o under "Done"
OneMoSalah 8,886
I'd probably prefer Martinez in terms of age and the fact he'll get better as hes 26 or 27, going into his peak now.

I think it's far wiser to spend little on an experienced striker like Eto'o who will bring something new to our squad as a stop gap which will enable us to go for a proper striker again next season instead of spinning £35m on a striker who's similar to what we've got already. Its just will in say 2 years or so if Eto'o leaves we are still really going to be looking for another striker even if we keep Lukaku, Torres and Ba (the last two aren't great).
