Do you also have that thing when people underestimate you and you get ultra-competitive to prove them wrong? I've had that a lot when we had sports at school. I was hell-bent on beating everyone because I don't look like the most athletic guy .

Absolutely. If I was to go on a run alone, I could probably do 2-3km before needing a quick break for oxygen (I struggle with my breathing as I am asthmatic, and I'm not exactly the fittest person in the first place). BUT if I'm in direct competition with a friend or with team-mates, I can probably go as far as 5km before needing to rest for a minute. The same applies to anything else. I think I get off on the challenge and it makes me dig deep and give everything I've got. I think it's some subconscious attempt to show people I might be a fat fuck but I'm quicker - or at least respectably fast - and far stronger than they are!
