Really ? I thought the goal had more to do with Cahill and Ivanovic being absolutely terrible at defending through balls...

They were pushing up the pitch because Chelsea were attacking. Hazard gave the ball away on the left hand side and Wigan counter-attacked with our defenders on their front foot. They didn't exactly defend it well, but Cech made a mess of it which created the goal.

We did what we needed to do. Fair play to Wigan though, thought they were decent in spells and 4-1 was slightly harsh on them. But a much needed win for us, finally I can enjoy the weekend and watch MOTD!

The guy who sits behind me had £100 on 4-1 with Ramires scoring first and won 7 and a half grand. He nearly had a heart attack when Al Habsi made the double save towards the end - luckily for him it was Torres on the rebound.

Come on, they had more then enough time to position themselves properly again. They just don't seem to be alert enough to pick up the runs. It's not the first time that it happened.

If you're going to blame Hazard and Cech then they deserve blame aswell if not most of it.

Not most of it. They do get some blame of course. Cech was mostly at fault because the defenders probably had it covered if he stays back, but Hazard was also to blame. That doesn't mean he had a bad game, he just lost possession and that led to the counter-attack which led to the goal.

The result was very flattering and we had the same problems we've had in other matches. Wigan just weren't good enough to exploit our weaknesses like other teams have.

Every problem again stems from the midfield failing to control the tempo of the game and letting it get away from them. We looked better with Luiz in midfield but the amount of shots he takes is getting stupid now. Again, he needs someone to play alongside him who can tell him to calm down, keep possession and not keep aiming for the top tier.

Torres worked hard but whatever talent he had has just evaporated. He was given plenty of space today but simply isn't a top-class striker.

The good points were the MOTM performance by Azpi (what a buy by the much-maligned board), Hazard's return and solid performance and the best performance by Oscar in a while bringing his Brazil form into his league games. But Wigan really are a pretty soft team and I think everyone was expecting them to score a second. Luckily Frank did what he does best and Wigan rolled over.

They also fucked up quite a bit, now three consecutive league matches without a win.

Yeah, it's pretty sad to see United running away with the league like this. The teams around United (us, City, Spurs, Arsenal etc.) have not been good enough this year in general, always dropping points against unnecessary opponents.

Ah well, there's always next season. Hopefully we get our act together. Who knows, we might finish 2nd if City continue to falter and we pick up some decent form?

Well we should have won against QPR, Reading and Southampton for a start. There's 7 points. We should be six points behind United in the title race. But we're not, which goes to show how shit we are. There is a good chance City may thump us in a couple of weeks' time.

Couldn't watch it but was nervous checking my phone at 2-1, was like a 'here we fucking go again!" just a real shame the north London scumholes won too though but good result. Heard the scoreline flattered us a bit but who cares, 4-1 is a thrashing in any language (BVB lol sorry).

12 game shootout now with North London dirt, gonna be tense.

Average performance overall but happy that we got the 3 points more than anything else after the recent slump in form. Yes, it wasn't pretty at times as we looked dodgy and unconvincing but perhaps that is somewhat expected given our recent run of results. The confidence will return fully as long as we can continue picking up wins, hopefully, in the next few games. And besides, we have reached that point of the season where getting results is more than important than the performance.

A much needed win. We aren't going to play many more 'easy' games this season.

Thankfully we were spared the horror show that is Lampard and Ramires in a two-man midfield. Luiz was good but still makes errors with his passing although not so much today. Once Mikel is back we will be a lot more solid and be able to keep better possession of the ball.

It always surprises me that teams like Wigan can play all sorts of unorthodox formations yet we don't. I'd love to see us try playing with a back 3 and see how that affects our pattern of play and midfield. It's games like this that make me think Martinez, with better players, could create something special. Wigan always look dangerous and play the ball well.

Great win although the scoreline does flatter us a bit. Lots of very good performances. Azpi, Lampard, Torres, and Luiz were all excellent. Feel sorry for Torres, he played very well, passed well, defended well, and had two very good shots on goal which were Al-Habsi's best two saves.

THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
