Fernando Torres

I'd rather the interview be conducted on the training ground. Right now Torres needs to be 100% focused on football, training harder than everyone else. He needs to be re-born, and become El Niño again. After reading arguments for and against him, during the past few days. My mood is now undecided in regards to his potential here.

Sunday can't come soon enough.

First time I've seen Torres in Chelsea colours! He looks awesome :D :blue scalf:

Reading that just brings a tear to my eye! :smiliecap1:

And it also makes me want to go up to Stamford Bridge and get Torres printed on my shirt!

Javier Mascherano on Torres :

"I was not surprised about what happened with Fernando," Mascherano is quoted on espn.co.uk as saying today.

"When I left Liverpool, it looked as if I killed someone. It is sad that the people who did something important with the club have to leave by the back door.

"It is sad that the press and the club try to convince people that it is all the player's fault when the reality is that Liverpool didn't show the interest in keeping us in the club.

"The most important players didn't leave the club well. I spoke with Fernando and I said to him that he doesn't have to be worried because he did his best for the club.

"Even though he didn't win any trophies, he was a very important player and helped this club all the time."

Don't let that baby/pretty boy face fool you. You don't get to this level without having some major ambition and self-centeredness. If he didn't have ambition he'd still be at Atleti for God's sake.

Reminds me of what Tim Howard said about Torres a few years ago. "I think he's been one of the top in the world. He's got speed, and he's got a great sense for the goal, which all great strikers have. The craziest thing about Torres is that as silky smooth as he is, he's a scrapper as well. When he gets in the box, it's like you don't think this flashy guy is going to get in there. And he sticks his feet in, he sticks his head in. He knows as he gets closer to the goal the importance of really fighting and battling. He seems to always hit the target, and he hits it with pace, which makes it really difficult for a goalkeeper."

Poor old Liverpool, the 80s Leader,

Sunk so low, now Chelsea's feeder,

Torres left and made them cry,

Dressed in Blue he'll fly so high,

So upset they burnt his shirt

Watch him grind them into the dirt,

No worries Nando , you'll be fine

Wearing Chelsea's number 9.

Good article.

The week’s events recall a television interview Torres gave to Canal+ shortly after arriving at Liverpool. Was it disappointing, the interview asked, to not be in a cosmopolitan city like London for his big move abroad? He looked ahead blankly. “I didn’t come here as a tourist,” he bluntly replied. Torres has moved south for one reason only; to fulfil every iota of his potential, and his determination bodes well for Chelsea.
