Fernando Torres

talk to me when u get something else to say!!! tired of having the same argument!!!

as for not "needing" lukaku. please!!! just like we dint "need" sturridge!!

Sturridge's hold-up play and his ability to drop deep and bring others into the game with his passing would be very useful.

That's the one positive to take from Torres's presence. On the ball he's still got some quality. Bizarrely he's probably still better than Lukaku at holding the ball up with his back to goal, although neither is as good as Costa or Drogba.

Even if that is right (considering torres does hold the ball up cos everytime he touches it I either see the ball to the opposition or torres sprawled on the floor with the ball inadvertently going back to the oppostition), just tell m e how many PL goals did torres score using his hokd up play or just tell me how many goals chelsea scored using torees' hold up play.

Lukaku is 21, even if his play with the back to the goal is not as it should be, he is still a massive threat and definitely more than torres.

torres wins loads of headers. sadly , none of them go anywhere useful for us.

Scroll down to shirts, highest Chelsea shirt seller yearly apparently, even more than the likes of Hazard...etc. Unbelievable

Is he really an unsellable player? Why not offer to pay him out for the last two years of his contract, say pay him the rest of his wage and sell him for cheap? Or viceversa, buy himself out and agree a settlement with the club for the exact same fee?

Or why not give him the Bogarde/Malouda treatment and put him in the reserves? Or make him 3rd/4th choice striker? If we really wanted to make his stay here untenable, we can do so.

Anelka left, Sturridge left, Kalou left, Lukaku is leaving and this guy remains at our club? DOING WHAT exactly? How many managers and players must we lose because of his ineptitude? I have to question who makes the decisions at this football club. Mourinho has already said the guy is not a striker. WTF is he still doing here? Pay him out, take your losses and tell him to fuck off! I just hope Roman is not interfering with anything because this doesn't make sense anymore.

Just wait until the end of the transfer window before concluding that he isn't going... For all we know the club might be looking at selling him.

I guess that explains why he's still here - brand recognition. It's insane how marketable he is. Really unbelievable.

He still bring in millions for the club every year through his shirt, that is one of the reason he is staying too.

http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2013/9/6/4702220/no-fernando-torres-doesnt-earn-chelsea-21m-in-annual-shirt-sales

brings us £4m max a year in shirt sales.

costs well over £10m a year on wages. and jeopardizes our ambitions on the pitch. clearly he shouldn't stay for shirt sales.

this is what our strikers cost us last year (according to wagnh)

torres = 19mil

etoo = 7mil

ba = 6mil

lukaku = 2mil

a total of 34mil

what our strikers will cost this season

torres = 19mil

DD = 4mil (higher estimate)

costa = 16 mil

lukaku = -16.4mil. (considering his transfer fee to be 19mil from anderlecht and just 24 mil from everton) (very high estimates) (can be as high as 26mil if his clauses were not triggered out hence making his transfer fee as low as 10mil, and his transfer fee to everton being 30mil pounds).

a total of 22.6mil.

if we sell torres for even 5mil.

then

torres = 13mil

costa=16mil

DD = 4mil

lukaku =-16.4mil

ba = -0.75mil

which makes a total of 16mil(round figure).

considering we can atleast match the amount we spent of strikers last season, we have 18mil pounds in FFP terms.

we can buy another striker worth about 32mil and at wages of 185kpw.

selling torres with the lukaku deal done, makes perfect sense. if torres does not not leave, it will be cos jose and the board want him to stay, no other reason.
