Fernando Torres

We absolutely can. He missed training. Mourinho has made it very clear he wants 3 strikers, he wouldn't let one just go gallivanting around Spain on the piss.

He's gone, certain of it.

He didn't though. Jose said that everyone had Sunday off.

EDIT: Barbara beat me to it. I really need to learn to read the whole thread before replying...

Torres now has the perfect chance to go and start afresh in Italy, surely he doesn't want to be third choice here and hardly play? Remember the fuss he made a few years ago after not starting the CL final...

I'd expect a few stories to start appearing about how he turned down the deal if this happens. So far the crowd has been behind him, but if it looks like he's refusing to move just because of money then it could get ugly.

When I look in the past, ok he scored that goal vs barca, but he cost us 50m that was never repaid, he is unwanted, but still wants to stay here to get more money, he never improved, therefore, Torres just fuck off. Cancer to the club no matter how you look at it, because we are stuck with him as he doesnt want to move on...

or he doesn't want to move his family from a country that he had been living in for years to go to a downgraded club and country...

That's a fair point. On a personal level he's earning a lot of money for not much, but he's got a family to think of. That's something everyone has to contend with.

But what does that say about him as a sportsperson? He certainly doesn't have the ability to be a top-level sportsman anymore and that would just confirm he doesn't have the mentality either. He's a bit-part player at this club and he's got the opportunity to go to a new league and prove people wrong. But maybe he doesn't want to do that.

Maybe he wants to be the new Winston Bogarde and just see out his contract on the training pitch, with the occasional appearance on a football pitch. He can most certainly do that if he pleases but he'll get abuse from every Chelsea supporter and disdain from every football supporter.

At this point the question is - does he care?
