TomCFC 357
In the past few games, I've been more annoyed with his attitude and sulking than the wasted opportunities. Anyway, we got the win and clean sheet. I won't focus on one player. Bosnian Blue
Peace. 4,352
It's been a while that I restrain myself to comment on the guy...He'll really have to do something. The miss yesterday was shocking. The gesture he made wasn't a gesture of a striker, it was rather a gesture from a defender who only has the opportunity to make a shot to goal once in a while. If by the end of the year he doesn't produce things, then we will have to sell him. Both because he will be a liability on the pitch, and off the pitch (yeah, he is the player at the club who is earning the most, and those £180k-a-week paid for a liabilty doesn't do us any good). A strikers role is too important. And he's the type of striker that doesn't make any contribution to the team except for goals. If it was Rooney we were talking about, then he still has a big impact on the game even if he's not scoring. But Torres isn't that kind of player. And now he'll have to wait two weeks before the next game........... which is against Liverpool The red card against Swansea was really really stupid. He would've done well against Bolton and Everton.
manpe 10,861
I'm willing to give him a chance till the end of the season. A year and a half will be more than enough for him to find his form and become reliable again. If not, then by all means, we don't have to keep him. One more transfer season in January to help him out, and if he doesn't start firing like a world-class striker, we can't afford to keep him anymore. ChelseaChick 430
Maybe he will find his form in the Liverpool game...wouldn't that be fuckin brilliant. I'm struggling to keep positive about him...but you know me, I don't hate anyone...except Rio Ferdinand. Kez
Kieran. 6,317
Yeah, I was just thinking that. No one can deny that he's been pretty awful in the last two games. It'd be perfect for him to score an important goal vs. Liverpool. Even if he ends up a flop, we'll look back on that moment fondly. But more importantly, the chance at a goal or three vs. his former team will fire him up. Torres plays best when he's angry.Edit: quick sidenote, does anyone think that there is a good chance he plays in the Carling Cup vs. Liverpool? tmessy 139
for Torres to find his form (and be back for GOOD) all he needs to do is 3 simple things:1. go on youtube... and type in his name... watch HIS OWN highlights... and get back confidence and be excited again! those get me pumped watching them...2. type his name into google... read the "news" about him and have that fire him up... i get mad at them like i have to prove a point...3. just sit back simply remember how good it felt to be THAT great and just have that cary in his mood throughout the day... there you go!!Torres in 3 simple steps!!! just add Chelsea! Madmax 9,219
He's gone from being a brilliant goal scorer to a scorer of brilliant goals. If you look at his goals for us so far, they're not you'd call 'an average/decent finish' or 'an easy goal'.*braces himself for an inevitable Kalou joke in response*

LDN Blue 7,903
Torres - Tough to settleChelsea striker Fernando Torres has admitted he has found it harder to settle at Stamford Bridge than when he first left Spain for Liverpool. The £50million striker has looked a shadow of the player who terrorised Premier League defences during his time at Anfield since his switch to Stamford Bridge in January. The former Atletico Madrid ace admits that the scale of the English capital has played a part, coupled with the lack of familiar faces compared to when he was on Merseyside. But the 27-year-old is confident that he will find his feet with Andre Villas-Boas' side and feels that it is hard to compare his current club with his previous employers."They have no similarity, neither in their past nor in their present. My adaptation process for each has been completely distinct," he told Esquire Espana."Chelsea is in London, a huge city. I come from Madrid, also a great European capital, but this is much more of everything, for good and for bad."It's been difficult for me to adapt here compared to when I arrived in Liverpool, a more comfortable place, smaller, where I was surrounded by Spanish team-mates."In the end, the important thing is to try and organise yourself as quickly as possible. That's what I'm doing."Torres refuses to be bogged down by the constant references to his price tag and insists that when the Blues became interested in his services, it was an offer he could not refuse. He said: "That's just a number. The only thing I know is that opportunities such as the one Chelsea offered me cannot be turned down. The important thing is the confidence they have in me."Liverpool was going down a strange path. Personally, I believe the departure of Xabi Alonso to Madrid was a clear message that something was changing."I have the ambition to improve and Chelsea could offer me what every footballer desires: titles."http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7301019/Torres-Tough-to-settle

That’s just a number. The only thing I know is that opportunities such as the one Chelsea offered me cannot be turned down. The important thing is the confidence they have in me. Liverpool was going down a strange path. Personally, I believe the departure of Xabi Alonso to Madrid was a clear message that something was changing. I have the ambition to improve and Chelsea could offer me what every footballer desires: titles.Liverpool and Chelsea are completely different clubs. They have no similarity, neither in their past nor in their present. My adaptation process for each has been completely distinct. Chelsea is in London, a huge city. I come from Madrid, also a great European capital, but this is much more of everything, for good and for bad. It’s been difficult for me to adapt here compared to when I arrived in Liverpool, a more comfortable place, smaller, where I was surrounded by Spanish teammates. In the end, the important thing is to try and organize yourself as quickly as possible. That’s what I’m doing… I can’t say that what I’ve achieved is like a dream come true, because I never dreamed of getting this far, or to where I am today. Everything that football has given me has been un extra permanente. I give thanks for that.

Santiago 15
I'm a bit disappointed and have not much confidence. I have some hope yet, just a bit.He is scoring few goals for his level, scoring some beautiful and difficult goals but, losing piece of cake opportunities. Opportunities that even Inzaghi with 50 years would score, and, time is running, it's difficult to stand for him nowadays.I really hope he backs to his level, for Chelsea and for him, but, I don't know if I really believe that's possible.
