I just wanna say that Gundogan and deBruyne gave ManCity a victory over Barca today with their goals. Two players we probably should've had on our side IMO, although Gundo was debatable due to back injuries.

Pot 3 (provisional): Napoli*, Tottenham, FC Basel, Dynamo Kiev*, Ajax*, Olympiakos*, Anderlecht, Liverpool*

Pot 4: All other qualifying clubs, which could include Roma, RB Leipzig, Celtic*, Nice* and Feyenoord

 

* denotes must come through qualifying rounds (Ajax would not have to qualify as Europa League holders)
** denotes must win Europa League

It's expected but Pot 2 looks frightening!

So we will get either Barça, Atleti, PSG, Dortmund, Sevilla or Porto at least.

I'd love Barcelona in the group. Would give us the opportunity to see how good this Chelsea side truly is.

I've never liked easy runs. If you reach the quarters or semis by dodging the top teams you haven't proven anything. The games vs big teams are the most enjoyable as well.

That may be true but considering it's only the group stage, I would rather us get an 'easy' one so that we don't have to expand too much energy and can focus on domestic matters as well as have a good chance of progressing to the knockout stage. It would be embarrassing if we get KOed from the group stage again.

Entertainment wise, yeah that would be great. But success wise not so.

We were always playing on emotions and mentality rather consistent quality.

Lets say we play Barca, Napoli and Leipzig in groups, we need to give consistent run againt everyone to get further. This is where I think our club is not yet on that level. If we get lesser teams, we progress one way or other. Once we are in elimination stages, the further we go, the more emotions will be around for us to progress. And we are rather good in such moments. 

Thats why I can see us win against barca, napoli etc in elimination stages, but not so much in group stages when we dont yet have that drive.

Its wrong mentality, but its how we played CL for a while now. Maybe Conte will change it tho.

Dafuq is Barca in pot2?  Doesn't the uefa club ranking coefficient also come into consideration when computing the pots?

That only applies to Pot 2, 3, and 4. UEFA changed the system a few years ago. Pot 1 now consists of champions of the 8 highest ranked nations. The other 3 pots will feature teams based on their club coefficient. Had they not changed it, we would be in Pot 2 for next season's draw.

Correct, except that i's the champions of the 7 highest ranked nations + the holders, the 8th nation champion will get to Pot 1 if the winners also won their domestic league ( which is assured to be the case this year ).

about the group F, i know right? was thinking the same thing, ours doesnt look too shabby at all, i wouldnt mind if it was my draw or yours, but i prefer mine, it just has the right balance. Your group A, B, G and H though, dear God
