BlueSunshine 672
WRONG our first CL campaign was under Ranieri ,,,Roman bought us because we had gained 4th place by beating ,????? ScumpoolUnless the Benitez story has destroyed too many of my brain cells,i am pretty sure that it was during the 1999-2000 season that we played in the champions league for the first time.Apart from the game against barcelona i remember us trashing Galatasaray 0-5 in Istanbul

Leif 6,006
Some of our most respected and followed Chelsea Twitter users are doing *everything* they can to actually make fans turn on Rafa already. Even editing quotes, not posting them in full context etc. Not good. Thought they, we, everyone was just a bit better than that.
Superblue 6,372
My Liverpool friend says that there's no point listening to him in press conferences or in interviews as absolutely nothing he says makes even the slightest sense."Torres will play as the potato while Mata will act as the ketchup. Who puts potatoes and ketchup together? Well I don't but I'm sure someone does."That sort of stuff. That's brilliant!Mata and Oscar the salt and vinegar! Sheva. 5,373
Why only point out those games though (and we've struggled against Liverpool for years)? There were games against Shakhtar twice, Utd twice and Juventus in our poor run of games. You didn't answer my question btw.I'm only pointing out those games because they have all been more recent, we have played those teams in the past 6 outings. A chance to get back to winning ways and we fucked up.To your question: I know the board won't accept it, but i was talking about the fans. BleedsBlue 1,549
I dont know if you guys remember but Benitez was going to be appointed as the interm manager when AVB got sacked but the fans protest lead the board to appoint RDM.Kinda sucks to know that Benitez appointment was inevitable.Anyways now that Roman has sacked RDM,I only want Jose back in the summer and well for that to happen, lets all pray that Madrid win the Champions League this season.Fuck Pep and get the Special One back where he deserves to be!KTBFFH! There's no way you can deny that's mostly tough opposition.Fair enough on the last part. But what do you expect though, he's clearly not a wanted man (didn't know he'd be this unwanted haha). Jase 43,479
Benitez takes over the club and all the focus is on the flop blondie Torres once again. Don't know whether to laugh or to cry.

ZOS 580
Anyways, my expectations from Benitez this season:* Reorganize our defending strategy to be more solid.* Finish top 4 in the league.* More rotation (he was known for it, we will probably see more of Romeu and Azpi as he used to favour Spanish players).* Make a real push in the European competition (whether it be CL or EL) and CWC.That should be enough to consider him a success.and get the fuck out by the end of the season. The only place to be 11,313
Is Zenden really our assistant manager now? lolJust...why...I posted in the other thread but there are three things about him that I think are pertinent.1. He played at Chelsea. He's familiar with the club, a few players and a few staff. That helps Benitez.2. He played under Benitez.3. He also played with a certain out of work manager at Barcelona in the late-90s. Might sound simplistic but I'm not sure our board are capable of much more. It seriously drives me crazy! Torres this, Torres that. Give it a rest, he's done. He's been out of a job for 2 years, when a top club like Chelsea comes calling he would be stupid to turn it down really. This is a chance for him to prove he's still a good manager, and also do it with a good squad - as long as they don't pathetically stop playing for him.And you are right we faced a tough schedule, but RDM would probably still have a job if he got those winnable games (WBA, Swansea and Liverpool) in addition to the win against Shakhtar. It's called poor form, every team goes through it. Chelsea even has a annual November slump. We went on a 7 game winning streak before that I think. It is simply ridiculous but it's the way it is. Ryan Fong 2,776
Rumours spreading that there's someone outside the training ground with a "Rafa Out" bannerSigh... It's just stupid and childish.Yes we are all furious at the way how RDM has been treated and yes we don't like Benitez at a certain level, however damage has been made, just grow a pair and deal with it unless you've got a fucking time machine.Just accept the fact that that fat Spanish waiter IS our manager now, like it or hate it please just keep it to yourself and support the team regardless. All the negative banters and chants won't make Benitez quits the job immediately, how about just keep quite and let the man to prove himself at our freaking dugout! BlueLyon 9,359
Well this unsupporting campaign is ridiculous. Despite Rafa is unlikeable person, he is our new manager and the protests are just hurting his and player morale. We are already on enough big pressure.
