Maybe abramovixh hasn't offered enough money to pep?

Or Guardiola is just afraid to come to EPL, and choose less competitive league, where Bayern is way better than the rest of the league. Dortmund did mix things up in the last 2 years, but I think it is their maximum...it's again Bayern's era, where other teams don't stand a chance. So guardiola was playing on safe card ;) Even I could win title in Germany with Bayern :D

@, It was my way of implying who i thought was actually in charge in 07/08.

@zolayes your right ill probably put Ranieri up a bit thinking again.

Ok fair enough... Was getting weird as I assumed everyone must know that lol.

you undervalue Ranieri's contribution considerably

Everyone always does. He brought Lampard, Cech, Robben, Makalele, and Gallas to Chelsea. He played Terry and made him Captain. He contributed much more to the club than Hiddink who was simply a good manager for a handful of games. Mourinho's team was actually mostly Ranieri's (and even Vialli's) team. In fact, I'd have him second behind Mourinho. (I guess some of it depends on what you mean "contributed". Lasting legacy? How well we did under them?

I'd have it:

1) Mourinho- we became a dominant team when he was manager and helped forge our identity. He also bought players like Drogba and Carvalho who were key for us well after he left.

2) Ranieri,-Reasons above

3) Ancelotti-Had our best year under him. Transfer legacy is poisonous though.

Other than that, I don't think our recent managers "contributed" all that much. Largely because no other managers has managed even a season worth of games.Grant has the best success, managed the longest, and had very good transfers but still not much of a legacy really, If you're going back even a little further both Gullit and Vialli contributed a lot. We had or first success under them. We started playing some beautiful football. We were an exciting team. We even within 5 points of winning the Premier League one year. We had a ton of top transfers in this era as well. (Zola, RDM, Leboeuf , Desailly, Poyet, Cudicini, Hasselbaink, Gudjohnson, Flo, Chris Sutton (how did that get in there?) etc.... In fact, our 96/97 and 97/98 transfers were probably our best if you consider value. We bought Babayaro, Le Saux, De Goey, and Poyet, Zola, Lebeouf, and Vialli. The whole thing cost us well under 30M pounds.

Lots of speculation about Moyes....what you think?

I think we must stick with a manager no matter who he is. Everything was being prepared for Pep, things didnt work out so I dont even care who it is anymore, I just want stability.

Deep down I want Klopp or Mourinho, but I know they wont come, so just sign whoever you aint gonna sack.

I think he'd do well if he was given time, he gets the best out of his players. But he wouldn't get time here so we are probably better to go for a manager with CL experience and who would be happy to only be here for a season or two at most. We really need a manager like Moyes who would be here for a few years, but unless the manager wins the league or CL he's going to get sacked. It's probably going to take a few more years for Abramovich to run out of managers before he realizes there's no one better available so he just sticks with whoever is in charge.
