Second game where we've lost because of his selection, although last night wasn't as painful as the QPR game. Let's be honest, we outplayed a very decent Swansea team and lost due to two uncharacteristic mistakes from a usually dependable player and having Torres up-front. As soon as Ba came on we looked ten times more dangerous.

That suggests we're good enough with the right team to beat most other teams in the Premier League which should hopefully see us make top-four, although it's going to be close. The cups are almost certainly gone though which should undermine his case to stay on past the summer.

At the moment there are no obvious candidates to take his place so I can't see anything changing until June.

I agree with you that there is probably no obvious candidates, but think back to 98' when it went sour under Ruud. Out of the blue, in came Luca, which I think pretty much stunned everyone. Chairman Ken kept Graham Rix on as a kind of steadying factor and, in the short term, it did work. Of course we all know it went sour in the end but, lets face it, when were we not "short term" managerial wise? Fuck me, there was a point in the 80's, into the 90's where it seemed that Bates, Peter Swales at Citeh and Deadly Doug were in a competition to see who could bin the most managers.

Anyway, I digress, in 98, it was Luca. Could 2013 be Lamps? probably not as the club seem hell bent in getting rid. He would certainly get a reaction from the players (Goldi Bollocks excluded) and would get every single fan on side at a stroke. If the owner is determined to bin Lamps then what about Ernie? Chelsea through and through, experience at those family clubs Millwall and Leeds. Fuck me, he even got Wall' to a Cup Final and (very briefly) an assault on Europe (Literally). The steadying influence, a la Rix is there in Eddie Newton.

Very left of field I admit. But this has become very, very poisonous and I don't think it's going to improve anytime soon. The fat cunt very clearly isn't wanted and Torres is shot, utterly shot. Yet it would seem that the owner may be insisting that he plays. Purely conjecture I know but entirely possible. Listening to Andy Jacobs on talkSPORT this afternoon, he is convinced that the owner is more than meddling.

Ancelotti should have never been let go. He managed us for 2 years, more than 100 games and had win percentage of nearly 62%. Bloody good.. it's a shame - people also liked him in general, though as usual same faces kept asking for his head after a few slumps.

If it was going to be anybody promoted from within the club then first name on my list would be Steve Holland. I do wonder what his career path will be like and if he could one day be not just a Premier League manager, but our manager but that's a long way down the line. I hope whoever comes in this summer keeps him around and involved.

But I honestly don't think we're going to make any moves until the Summer. A lot depends on the next 3 games but if we start like we started last night's game and have Ba in the team then we've got a chance in all 3 matches.

Passionate Chelsea fan just been on talkSPORT, Ironed out Mick Quinn and Jason Cundy. Quinn for being a patronising scouse cunt and Jase for being afraid to speak to speak out against the club. Subject matter: The treatment of Torres and the Fat Cunt by Chelsea fans.

My original thoughts when he joined were "Give him time before judging him" etc, but he could be winning every game and I'd still be a bit iffy about him being here I now realise. It's just completely wrong.

Sometimes in football, stats, records, predictions etc. are just worthless.

The fact is, I love Stamford Bridge, and he's turning it into a complete joke. I can't just keep waiting on him to turn our away form into a joke too.

SO! My current stand on this whole thing -

The board :clown: 's the lot of 'em, might have at least researched into what he said a couple of years ago before spunking a few million his way

The Spaniard concedes the more hectic nature of English football in comparison to the considered approach of Continental combat makes it more difficult to control proceedings.

“In Europe you can approach a game tactically in a different way,” said Benitez. “In England it is a different style of football and more difficult for the manager to influence what goes on.
“It is not as simple to influence the game with tactics in England the way it is elsewhere in Europe.”'

I think we set out ok and without the errors we wouldn't have lost this game... The blame falls on him when he leaves our best chance of scoring on the bench til the 80th min. And the blame also falls on him if he doesn't see Ba as number 1. And Demba better be starting vs stoke.

Just curious if you two also believe that Marin should have been brought in earlier as well. IMHO Marin was able to get in some decent crosses from the right side. I thought he added something to the match as well.

I think there can be a fair argument for marin starting to provide some width but i don't think that is exactly a blame on benitez as i a fine with who started. And back to your question, i don't think that was the key substituation... I agree that he did pretty well when he came on, but for me the main thing the team was missing was ba up front. He definitely added something to the team, but i think giving marin 20 mins is fine tactically from rafa. But imo you solve the biggest problem first and early when we have lots of time to change this.

I hope that answered your question lol. :D

Actually I am under the belief that rafadyce can't change his tactics to get a result when the squad is lacking. I will agree to disagree that the failure of rafa to see this deficiency hurt the club's chance in grabbing a result. I wanted to have a discussion about bringing in Marin could have helped, but rafa waited too long to make that decision.

I don't think we have to drastically alter the tactics, just the personnel which will do that... If you take someone like oscar off and put marin on then marin will give you something else, the same with ba for torres. There is no real tactical change except the players themselves which play differently. And he has a big laissez faire attitude, in that it will all work itself out for too long. He needs to be pro-active in seeing what is lacking rather than being reactive all the time and changing things when its too late.

Curious, has anyone seen this action taking place. Looks like Operation Occupy Stamford Bridge is progressing :D

I was going to post this earlier but found no need to as I honestly can't see enough fans sticking together as of yet for that to take any effect. We as long term supporters should know that Rafa won't last here, as soon as he starts losing game after game on the trot, through a bad spell he will be sacked. So I am actually against this because it will just unsettle the team furthermore. I just want win games and win them in style.

P.S. Check the comments underneath, typically ignorant remarks regarding our history and future. Makes me want to smash the fucking screen in when I read such shyte.
